Good 37º somewhat cloudy morning. Going to be cloudy/sunny today. A
glorious 78º yesterday!!!
Yesterday the DirecTV guy, Bobby, showed up right on time and fixed the
problems! YEAH!!! Then it was time to start today's blog and catch up on emails.
The sun finally started coming out after 1oam. I turned on the NY St. Pat's Day
parade and recorded it for later.
I ran a couple errands... post office for a package, Ace to wish all Happy
St. Paddy's Day. Said to Big Dan, "Erin go bragh". He said, "I don't wear a
bra!" Obviously he's NOT Irish!!! (It means Ireland Forever.)
Later I met up with Nancy, Jennifer, and Mike at Taprock for some "green
wine" in the afternoon. Sat on the deck over looking the Rogue River and enjoyed
the warm day!!!
(Nancy wouldn't let me take her picture~) and the fare was corned beef
tacos... Mike and Jennifer ate and I brought mine home for dinner... So
yummy!!!
Today my corned beef goes in the Crock*Pot along with leeks, carrots, and
Guinness beer. Cabbage goes in last 2 hours and will boil and mash some potatoes
to make Colcannon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colcannon

This from my pal Patty. LOL:
Alabama Preacher
-------------------------
-------------------------
An Alabama preacher said to his congregation, "Someone in this
congregation has spread a rumor that I belong to the Ku Klux Klan.
This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community cannot tolerate.
I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this. Now, I want the party who did this to stand and ask forgiveness From God, and this Christian Family."
This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community cannot tolerate.
I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this. Now, I want the party who did this to stand and ask forgiveness From God, and this Christian Family."
No one moved.
The preacher continued, "Do you have the nerve to face me and admit this is a falsehood? Remember, you will be forgiven and in your heart you will feel glory. Now stand and confess your transgression."
Again all was quiet.
Then slowly, a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with a body that would stop traffic rose from the third pew. Her head was bowed and her voice quivered as she spoke, "Reverend there has been a terrible misunderstanding.
I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I simply told a couple of my friends that you were a wizard under the sheets."
The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the congregation roared!

Historically this date....
1968 – Gold
standard: The U.S.
Congress repeals the
requirement for a gold reserve to back US
currency.
1990 – In the largest art
theft in US
history, 12 paintings, collectively worth around $300 million, are stolen from
the Isabella
Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston,
Massachusetts.
How sad the
case has not been solved nor the art recovered!
2002 – U.S. invasion of Afghanistan: Operation
Anaconda ends
(started on March 2) after killing 500 Taliban and al
Qaeda fighters
with 11 allied troop fatalities.
And births
this date include....
1858 – Rudolf
Diesel, German inventor (d. 1913)
.. Thanks to him we have those horribly noisy smelly trucks that
most men love!
1886 – Edward
Everett Horton, American
actor (d. 1970)
.... Do you think he ever heard a Who?
1909 – Ernest
Gallo, American winemaker (d. 2007)
1926 – Peter
Graves, American actor (d. 2010)
My sister, Marion, knew Peter. He had a house at Tahoe and
her real estate office rented it out for him. He told Marion lots of Hollywood
stories, especially ones about Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, with whom Peter
socialized. The stories were always
whoppers!
1938
– Charley

.... love his
voice!
1970 – Queen
Latifah, American singer and actress

There is a new show in TV called Crowded... It stars Patrick
Warburton
(played in Rules of Engagement)
Keach's character bolsters about how
"progressive" he is because his wife is black, while admitting he missed Richard
Nixon! WHAAAAAAAAAA?????????
I watched the first episode. TRASH! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! A total waste
of time. Cannot imagine what the writer (wrote Hot In Cleveland) thinking! If
you think you can handle utter stupidity then watch it and let me know your
opinion.

Later I kicked back in my chair in the living room and had wine and watched
Blue Bloods. Nice to be back to normal.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Happy normal day. Having Alabama preacher in the family history- the joke scared me- which made the punch-line even funnier.
I found a restaurant in Connecticut which serves corned beef pizza. Tacos makes even better sense.
Yep, the tacos were good and served with white re-fried beans. xo
LOL I must have heard the preacher joke before because I knew what was coming. It was hilarious! :)
I was a fan of Rules of Engagement. I likes Warburton's character on there. Miss that show. He is also the spokesman for National Rent a Car. "Choose any car and GO". :) I like his looks and his voice is yummy too.
Stacey Keach has played some comical parts. He was on Two and a Half Men. Played a racist type who eventually left his wife for an old Navy buddy, played by a black actor, John Amos. They both turned gay and moved in together. Keach was Charlie's fiance's dad.
Your St. P. outfit was adorable! Bet you got lots of comments around town!
XO Trisha
