Good 46º cloudy rain on the way morning.
Sacramento, San Francisco, Reno, Tahoe, and the whole Central
Valley on the list for rain today and Los Angeles tomorrow. Good! California
NEEDS it!
Picture of the day... Hello....
My friend Ellen Naugle posted this. I'm still laughing!!!
If Bernie
Sanders wins, it will be the first time that a Jewish
family moved into public housing that was left vacant by a black
family.
And with the elections in mind.... the stupidity of our young voters!
Sheeeesh!

Yesterday, in
the day time (unusual, as he always showed up before in the dark) the feral cat,
"BC" (Black Cat) returned! I had not seen him, nor had any of the food in the
back of the golf card disappeared since the Saturday before the Super Bowl. He's
been out and about. I thought for sure he was dead. So, when I saw him I got a
can of cat food and took it out. He panicked and ran into the trees. I called
him several times and left the food. He came back as soon as I came
inside...
I had to take these pictures through the darkened glass door and the screen...so not too clear....
It will take
a while for him to accept me and not be scared. I am so happy he's back and
safe!
Three years ago today I posted this:
Yesterday was
long and hard. Crying mostly. Trying to dig the grave for Harley. Thank goodness
the ground was soft from all the rains we have had. I worked on the grave a
little at a time and finally my back went south. I went down to my neighbors
Cindy and Frank. Their son, Jason, was there and he came up and helped dig the
rest for me. Here is the last photo I took of my boy on
Friday...
I laid Harley
to rest, but before that I unwrapped him and there was a tear on his eye. I
wiped it off and kissed him one last time.
On Friday I
had taken Harley to the vet's. I knew he was failing fast, feeble, hard time
balancing on all four feet, had been throwing up a couple days in a row and the
doc said his kidneys were starting to fail. I felt it was best to have him put
to sleep so he wouldn't be in any pain or discomfort anymore. Hated to have to
do it. He's been a buddy for so long. He was even a buddy to our other cat,
Blazer. Blazer couldn't catch a bird or a mouse if his life depended on it. He
telegraphed his every move. His fav thing to do was lay on his back on the
sidewalk in Temple City and hope someone would come along and rub his tummy. So,
Harley arrived on scene and decided to help Blazer out by occasionally catching
a bird and giving it to him. He had a good heart. Harley quit hunting after we
moved here, as I wanted him to be an indoor cat and not be eaten himself by
coyotes or cougars. When I brought him home on Friday I let Maggie and Bruiser
sniff him so they would understand. Bruiser did! He got up on my lap in my chair
Friday night while I watched TV. This was Harley's spot. No matter who was in my
chair (Dave when he babysat and Cliff not too long ago) Harley would get in
their lap.

National Cabbage Day
Hmmmm.... I was thinking.... slice it 1" thick, drizzle with a little olive
oil, sprinkle on sea salt and pepper, and some bacon bits, and roast it in 400º
for 30-40 minutes. Then sprinkle with cheese and bacon bits. Think I will try
this
tonight!

That cabbage looks good. simple. Won't make a big mess of kitchen. Since it is nearly scrubbed spotless- that's a big deal.
Renee Russo's role in The Intern was small, but as always, memorable.
That TV Channel should sponsor your blog):-
In retrospect, life experience is important to voting wisely. Knowing what we know now, I wonder if Richard Nixon would have been lowered to 18 from 21?
I wasn't quite old enough to be affected, but I remember that time to be one of great division and anger in the country. Perhaps the lesson to remember is to not let anger get in the way of common sense.
Unfortunately the liberalism has migrated to schools. The teachers are taught by extreme liberals in college and pass it on. With no definite curriculum for teaching history any more, the kids don't learn nearly enough. Sad.
I have seen Dice in other video's doing this same thing and he is hilarious. However, it is SAD and infuriating that there are soooo many absolutely DUMB Americans who know nothing and will sign a petition like that. I guess all they know is they want Hil liar y and whomever she picks for VP is good with them. Lord help us!!
Well how fun to look back at Bruiser when he was Casper. I think that's what you called him then? Sad about Harley but the Lord sent Bruiser because He knew that you two would grow to love each and he would fill that void.
Tks for the reminder about cabbage. I have some Chinese cabbage in the frig that's near expiration. I think I will chop it and fry with some spices.
Hugs, XOXO Trisha
Our beloved pets are our family and our hearts break when they pass... sometimes wish that dogs and cats lived 50 years and turtles only 10+ .... Just saying and sending hugs my friend.
Cabbage looks great and it's also good to slice thin and toss with some poppyseed dressing for a quick refreshing summer salad. (Works well with Napa cabbage as well)
Your photos are amazing and deserving of recognition, not surprised.
Have and BE a great day Sue.
Hugs, Vanette
Thank Vanette! Yes, poppyseed dressing sounds good. xo
