Good 41º cloudy morning.
The predictions through Wednesday:
And the current radar:
Yesterday, excitement prevailed. Paid bills. Whoooop! Vacuumed. Whoooop!
The sun came and went and by noon it was gone again and cloudy. Warmed to 58º.
Breakfast was cooked yam, plain Greek yogurt, blueberries, and honey. Oh,
and some of Grandpa Graham's BBQ sauce on the yam. OMGOODNESS, it was
GOOD!!!
Lunch was cucumber, tomato, avocado, fresh lemon, olive oil, salt and
pepper.
This avocado seed was the oddest I had ever seen.
Chopped all, squeezed on the fresh lemon, drizzled on the olive oil,
sprinkled salt and pepper.
SUPER good!!!! Healthy too! :o)
I communicated with the maker of the Grandpa Graham's Blackberry BBQ
Sauces, Mike, and he said other than in Rogue River at Ace, it can be bought in
Grants Pass at Oregon Outpost at 5th and G Streets, on the corner. They carry
gourmet sauces.
137 SW G St
I had never been in there before yesterday. The owner said she's been there
18 years. OMGOODNESS, they have so many good things in that store!!!! I will go
back and SHOP! From sauces, to jams/jellies, pickles of every kind imaginable
(peppers, asparagus, eggs), and just so many drool starting items.
Yesterday afternoon I ran errands prior to going to Grants Pass... deposit
at the bank ATM, mail some cards, take picture of the new osprey nest
platform..
The osprey nest that was atop a power pole and power lines was moved and a
permanent platform was installed 6-8 feet above the power pole which will allow
the osprey to come and go from the nest while keeping them away from the power
lines.
Next I went to Gtanos to give a bottle of the Blackberry BBQ sauce to Juan
Carlos and Lily to try. Dang, I missed Juan Carlos by about 2 minutes, as he had
left to take his kids home. Surprise .... Jennifer and Mike were in there
eating! I sat with them and had a glass of wine. Micol and Bob came in to eat
with them.
I left there to go to The Vine to take a bottle of the BBQ sauce to them to
try with the meat they will be smoking. Dang again, I missed Dustin and Ashley
by a minute or so also, as they had just left but would be back in 15-20
minutes. I left the sauce with one of the girls there, explaining about it.
I had purchased 2 $20 gift certificates for $10 each for Taprock, not
reading the fine line, they had to be used for "dinner" after 4pm. Also, they
expired today. So, next I headed to Taprock. I decided I didn't want to eat
alone (Brian and family had gone to Eugene for one of Sami's gymnastic meets) so
I ordered a glass of wine and waited for my meal to go...
The view from the window where I sat... the northbound 7th St bridge over the Rogue River....
And the sunset over Caveman Bridge as I was leaving..
I ordered two meals:
Oysters & Chips... crisp hand-breaded and deep fried Washington oysters
with Northwest slaw and tarter sauce and lemon.
And:
Dungeness Crab BLT Chopped Salad
"A mound of tasty Dungeness crab sits atop fresh chopped romaine with
bacon, tomatoes, avocado, olives, hard-boiled egg, and house-made seafood
dressing."
And a piece of cheesecake.
