Weather ~ TBT ~ Travel & WiFi ~ PJ & Dave's New Motorhome ~ Thursday Football ~ Cherries Jubilee

Good 50º cloudy morning. COME ON RAIN!!!!!!!

Radar:

HAPPY TBT...
Kristen in Kobe Japan (teaching English at this woman's church) 1987...Mrs. Wantanabe:

.....and with Alex in 1997:

If  you travel, here is some good information about hooking up with wifi on your trips...

Pal Trish sent this "southern joke". LOL ....  Bubba was driving down a back road in South Carolina when he saw a sign in front of a restaurant. It read:
HAPPY HOUR SPECIAL
Lobster Tail and Beer
"Lord have mercy!" he exclaimed to himself, "them's my three favorites!"
Yesterday vacuuming and mopping. The joy. Back was SCREAMING! Gawd, I need a housekeeper!!!!
Then later I picked up PJ and Dave and took them to pick up their new motorhome. It is 17 years old but I don't think the former owners used it at all. The interior, kitchen included, is spotless and still smells new. Even the cutting board is still wrapped in factory cellophane! It is really nice!!! SUPER nice!!!

Dave and PJ will be the King and Queen of the road in this!
Dinner was reruns of my crab/pasta/veggie dinner. Chair .. TV.. news, wine, nap!
Football tonight:

National Cherries Jubilee Day

National Cherries Jubilee Day will make cherry lovers jubilant. If you enjoy cherries, you must absolutely love this day.
Cherries Jubilee is easy to make. All you need is a can of cherry pie filling, some cognac (or brandy) and vanilla ice cream.
QUICK CHERRIES JUBILEE
1 can cherry pie filling
3 tbsp. brandy
Vanilla ice cream

Heat cherry pie filling and brandy. Spoon over vanilla ice cream.
I also like this dish with a piece of pound cake under the ice cream!

GOOD morning. When Gerry worked at Northrop there was a day when the crew got together for "potluck" at work. His specialty was Cherries Jubilee.

LOL I laughed again at my southern joke. Too funny!

You know I find it a bit ironic that it took a Republican president to enforce the desegregation in Little Rock. The Republican Party was founded to free the slaves and now most blacks support the Democrats. They were behind all the horrific treatment including the KKK, Bull Conner, etc. treatment of the blacks. Those folks need to learn their history! It all turned on Johnson's War on Poverty (welfare) which has turned out to be the downfall of black families.
Oh well off my soap box. :( Pitiful!

mmmmmm Cherries Jubilee. On Carnival they always serve that on Monday, the first formal night. Funny thing was it was the many times we were on Carnival's Jubilee ship. :)

Love PJ and Dave's motor home. It looks, to me, so much like the one Georgia and Bob owned.

Yes, T, history is something people don't delve into. They go with the flow.. who is handing out the most!!! ox

Trish, I thought exactly the same thing!! Looks exactly like the one I traded in to scale down so I could drive a motorhome. Way too big for my comfort zone.

I'm with you, GS, I wouldn't want to attempt to drive anything this big. Of course Dave is a LOT younger than we are and male... makes a difference! Trouble is, on the road all you see is old men driving them, and they should be!!! xo
