9am 77º
9:45 81º
11am 90º
Noon 94º

It's been so hot here that there have been NO hummingbirds around, except for this morning... I saw ONE! Extreme heat and draught can kill hummingbirds. In this area we have Rufous Hummingbirds. They do not migrate and stay the winter. Our winters are very mild... with maybe snow a couple of times that lasts 2-3 days. Never had to chain up or shovel. So, I'm thinking the hummers have gone more towards the coast to get out of this heat.

Today is the 5th. I'll take the 5th and I'll take a 5th!
Let's see, what are my favorites.... these three:
Sinfire Cinnamon flavored whiskey

Citrus vodka

and... José !

Yesterday I used the taco seasoned rice for my breakfast...

I heated it up with a tad of olive oil and added in a couple eggs...

pepper, garlic salt, and some butter flavored salt ....
OMGOOOOOD!!!

Noon yesterday when it was 99º.  A little later the clouds were all gone, movin' west.

This from Ed Chenal (LASD ret):

What a lazy day yesterday was. I did go through one of the boxes of old Christmas ornaments that had been my sister Marion's. Her daughter-in-law Melinda sent them to me. Some had been my Mother's ... at least they are very familiar ... and VERY old!

OK, this came from Deewayne-Honee Pberger (LASD ret) and it's HILARIOUS! I'm still laughing and I saw it yesterday!

Yesterday I hard-boiled some eggs and then mixed Opa Greek Yogurt Dill Feta dressing with half and balsamic mayo with the other half..

I recorded the Capitol 4th and Macy's 4th. I watched the last of the Tour de France. I watched the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest from NY. YUCK!!!! Gross. The guy who won hat 62 hot dogs and buns. The runner up ate 60! Made my tummy upset just watching. Watched two Hallmark movies. One was A Very Merry Mix-up. It was fun!  http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/a-very-merry-mix-up   Watched the end of Macy's 4th. Sad, the camera angle for most of the fireworks was from way high and not ground level. Mistake.

Dinner was snacks...

I had some snapea crisps, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, a couple of the deviled eggs, gerkins I wrapped with a slice of Swiss cheese..... and wine.

All I know. Happy Sunday. Nuff said. Ciao.

Funny about the Hummers. I think they all came down here. We have tons of the little guys. Two regular feeders and one jumbo size one. I am looking out there right now and they look like a swarm of bees. John has to refill them all at least once a day. Well actually by noon the two regular size ones are empty. We have a milder winter than you and our Hummers usually mostly migrate to Mexico for the winter. A few stay behind for some reason. They are sure entertaining to watch. Little pigs!

I laughed out loud at the video. I kept wondering where the mom was when he was doing all that work to the floor, then the door. LOL Funny!

We also stayed home yesterday with the family. Sat out front and watched the fireworks from the high school. Nice. It was almost on the cool side for the 4th. We had to have jackets on watching the fireworks but then we usually do when at the fireworks show.

XO Trisha
