Good cloudy 55º morning. Got to 96º here (100º in Grants Pass)
and should be 98º here today with heat rising again tomorrow. Supposed to be
some wild thunderstorms in the east today.....
In the northern California foothills east of Sacramento there is a 2000
acre wildfire and they are evacuating a lot of folks..
Brian got here at 8-ish yesterday morning and loaded all that
stuff for the dump. We had to go down to the barn to get a hacksaw for the
plastic pipe (my job) and a skill saw for the boards (Brian's job). I made Dude
ride in golf cart so he wouldn't be running through the tar weed and the ones
with stickers...
Of course Bruiser was nosey and came down to the barn
too..
Brian got the wood all cut up and the truck and trailer
loaded..
Dude had to keep an eye on everything and the Bruise just lay
in the dirt!

I cut up some turkey hotdogs and tomatoes, put them in a pan with olive oil
and heated over med/high heat. Added in a couple eggs.....
Put some mozzarella cheese in the bottom of the serving
dish, plated the egg/hotdog/tomato mixture on top... and added a bit of wasabe
mayonnaise...
It was good, and I'd make this again, but not use the
hotdogs. Should have used the chicken thighs in the fridge instead... and maybe
something else besides that wasabe spread. The eggs on top of the cheese was
really good!! Actually this was too much food, don't know why I used two
eggs.... ate the rest later.
Also, finished up the infused vodka with fresh pineapple and
fresh pitted cherries. Sat for a week. Strained it ... saved the fruit and vodka
in the refrigerator. Will have some today!
LOL!!! (NO S**t!!!)

National Scotch Day
Ok, are we celebrating my heritage? or
the distilled spirits from Scotland? Guess it could be all things Scottish,
though it's most likely the latter. I like Scotch, Scotch Tape, Scottish Eggs,
and Scotsmen ... especially Sean Connery
! It's that brogue.
Mmmmm.... and kilts! And bagpipes! Yes. It's in my blood!

In regards to the
distilled Scotch (which in any case many Scotsmen contain Scotch) here are a
number of legal requirements in Britain that must be met in order for Scotch
whisky to be called 'Scotch.' It must be made in Scotland, for starters. And
don't ever spell it 'whiskey.' Here in America, we salute those tradition-bound
Scottish distillers by recognizing National Scotch Day! Are you on the rocks or
neat?

What a good son! Sweet of Brian to do that for his mom. Looked like a lot of work.
When I was young and we gals would go to the clubs I would order scotch and water tall with a lemon twist. I sipped on it all evening. That way I didn't have to spend much for the evening. :)

Your blog was my reward for finishing shredding- totally worth it.
There is some Scottish ancestry on my father's side- I would love to explore it.
Scotch and whiskey- very diluted, are good for the roses. That is all I use it for.
Lydia, you are funny!!! Shredding is something I do every single day after I get the mail. As for putting Scotch or whiskey in the garden.... OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOO what a waste!!!!!! LOL. xo
