Weather ~ Bruiser ~ Zucchini Bread ~ Polenta/Chicken/Veggies

Good 58º (too hot for me) clear sunny morning. High 90ºs yesterday and supposed to be triple digits today. UGH.

Imagine all those (13) people being hit by lightening at Venice Beach yesterday!!!! And one on the golf course on Catalina Island!!! Unbelievable!!!! 13 homes destroyed in the fire in the foothills east of Sacramento!

Yesterday I did a minimal of yard stuff. It got to be about 95º and so very humid. ICK. I worked on a calendar with birthdays, made zucchini bread, Dude ran to the road (early, still not 70º yet!) with me to take out the trash.
This was 6:30am yesterday...

And this was 2pm yesterday...
Clouds stayed until late afternoon and then the sun pounded down!

LOL: True at my house!

Today my friend Dee is having a surgery. She should be home this evening. Praying all goes well.

The Bruise was busy yesterday.... (ahhhhh the life!)

He sleeps all snuggled up next to me all night until he decides he wants to go out and I should get up.... then he attacks my feet! Nut!!!

Here is the zucchini bread... not the traditional loaf, cooked it in a Bundt pan... OMGOOOD!!!

For dinner I sliced and cooked some pre-made polenta in olive oil... topped with some 21 Spice (Trader Joe's) and sea salt..

Then I broke up some chicken thighs I had cooked previously, added in the pan olive oil, baby carrots, broccoli, cauliflower (comes in a bag for stir frying), spinach, a sliced zucchini, and tomatoes....
Topped with sea salt (in bunny bowl), 21 Spice, and lemon garlic....

Let 'er cook and serve on top of the polenta....

YUMMMMMMMY!!!!

Happy Monday. All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

National Milk Chocolate Day

(OMG. Chocolate and chilis!)

National Milk Chocolate Day is a special day for a special treat. Are you a "Chocola-holic"? If you are, you look forward to each and every chocolate related holidays.
There are lots of flavors of chocolate. Milk chocolate is enjoyed in candies and in baking. Milk chocolate is the favorite of millions of people. So, its only fitting that it gets its very own special national day.
Important Note: Don't be dyslexic about this special day. Today is a day for Milk Chocolate, not Chocolate Milk Day.
Lest there be any doubt about celebrating this day........ Today should be spent consuming and savoring generous amounts of your favorite milk chocolate treats.

It rained in the overnight here. As delicious a sound as milk chocolate melting on the tongue.

Need to call my sister- it is her birthday, too. I usually go up- but not in this weather!

Yes, yipee! I rained during the night! I woke in the early morning and heard drip drip drip. Was so surprised!
This morning Matthew goes to his last vacation Bible school. The theme is "Splash". Guess the church ordered the rain so it fits in with their theme. :)

Good "hot" morning! I know how much you are going to love today! Not.
Sad sad weather stories. Does make me nervous when we get so hot and possible thunder storms, because with thunder there is always lightening. That is your lesson for the day. giggle.
Definitely going to try that zuke bread in a bundt pan. Looks delicious and so did your dinner!
Off to go to something, whether it is right or wrong. Have a wonderful day. chat later. xo

Thanks for the weather lesson BFF! I hope no lightening. Was going to go out, but if the rains are coming this afternoon, I'll wait. Remember, I washed my car!

... and yes, The Bruise has THE LIFE! xo Chat later. (It's almost 5pm in London!)
