No Fog! ~ Plumbing/Hal/Wine ~ Gumbo ~ Horrible Names ~ Peanut Butter Recipes

Good 35º (wow, heat wave!) morning. No fog! Amazing.
Yesterday it hit in the high 60º's and everyone was happy!!!

PICTURE of the day..... inquisitive pups....

Mike Artoff came over yesterday and cleaned out the clogged pipes.
All working good now. When I turned on the disposal the water would come up in the other side of the sink. Swell.

The Bruise climbed around inside Mike's truck but when he was ready to leave the Bruise was on the front porch with a bird he caught. UGH! I so hate it when he kills birds. Poo.

I went to Grants Pass and picked up my computer (Hal) from Turk. He has it working PERFECT. He is such a computer wiz ... saved all my documents and photos. Sigh... so happy!!!! Thanks T! I think I should call Turk, Dr. T. CE. (Doctor of Computers - Expert)

Then to Brian's office to drop him off something and for a short visit. Then to Cartwright's Meats to pick up Bill's birthday presents.

Bill's birthday was the 15th but he was so sick with the flu. Now he (and Jeannie both) can enjoy eating again. Then had a long awaited overdue visit with my BFF and some good wine and dog cookies for Chaka the Wild Child Dog!

Back home I had gumbo for dinner. I made it early... with Zatarain's Gumbo Mix, leeks, celery, carrots, pea pods, broccoli, and the rest of the leftover fish............ Put all in the crockpot with 6 cups of water and a dash of lemon juice. Cooked on high for 2 hours then turned to low for 4 more hours... was on "warm" when I finally got home...

Now, I'm sure you know that mushrooms will not get sticky and icky if you store them in the fridge in a paper bag. The plastic bags make them go bad fast!

This soup was OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD!!! What a great way to use up veggies and you can either put in fish (shrimp, scallops, oysters, crab or lobster meat) or sausage or chicken or turkey or ..... whatever floats your boat or is taking up room in the fridge! I would have added okra (a love of mine... I KNOW, if you don't have Southern blood in you, you probably don't like okra!)

................this is funny, his name and profession. He was destined to race. Just like one of the doctors in the Cardiology unit here in Medford is named Dr. Lightheart.... destiny in a name. And my son, with the name Pendleton was destined to be a Marine! This is fun.... let's see ... who else.... Linda Toot played the flute in the Milwaukee Symphony! Mr. Sues is an attorney. Dr. Fingers is a gynecologist. Dr. Dick Bone (WHAT were his parents thinking????????) is a osteopath. Dr. I. Doctor is an ophthalmologist. In El Monte there is a dentist Dr. Ow. There is a gymnast named Kim Yoo Suk. Ouch. Sue Yoo is an attorney in NY. Dr. Ted Kadivar is a surgeon in Florida. Brad Slaughter is a meat department manager in a grocery store. Willie Stroker is a judge. OMLord! And a friend of mine from high school, Sue Shewalter Hite (Wilson S'63) had a cousin named Harry Butz! Jerry knew sisters in Texas named Ina and Ima Pigg. Those poor people!

Ok, all I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Justin Casey (first and middle names) is the son of a former MLB Pitcher. The name was chosen because Dad was a left hander- mom went to the games every day "Just in Case" dad pitched.

We know an Alden because her parents thought they were "all done" having kids.
