918 ~ Preimsberger ~ White Bean Soup

Good 40º (dark still) morning. Wow, cooled off a lot. Had to pull the covers up in the night. YES!!!!

5pm last night...

7pm.....

Radio code (LASD) 918 ... "insane person" ... so if today is your birthday, lottsa luck! Uh, that would be you, Deewayne Honeee P-berger (LASD ret)! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, you crazy person you! xo

Yesterday the 60% precipitation came true, only we got 100%!! Started with a few drops and an hour later got quite a bit. Ended up with about 1/16". That certainly curtailed my yard work for the day. So, instead I made white bean soup.....

I chopped up a couple of bell peppers and a couple jalapeños and a yellow bell pepper (all from Jeannie's garden) and some mushrooms... also cut up some chicken sausage.. all went into crockpot along with some dried onion, dried garlic, Italian seasoning, basil, rosemary, and paprika.

8 oz of white beans... and then 6 cups of water....

8 hours on low and it was PERFECT!!! I ate two bowls!!!

Unfortunately my pretty granddaughter,
Alex, didn't make the cut for Pasadena Royal Court. She can, however, go to the Royal Ball. I love you JellyBean!!! ♥♥♥

OMG, speaking of 918, all the food this morning made me insane! Now I am really hungry. In-N-Out, I could actually taste it off the computer. LOL I certainly stared at it for the longest time.
Your soup looked fabulous and I will definitely make that. What a great winter soup.
Sorry about Alex, she is a beautiful girl. I am sure the Royal Ball will be a blast.
You know, Greta Garbo still had such great looking eyes in her "older" years. I thought she was a beautiful lady.
Okay, enough of my ramble, off to start my day. Hope yours is grand. Chat later. xo

Boy, yes, that soup is good. Original recipe calls for no sausage, but carrots and celery... Didn't have that so added what I had! Going to make it again! Have a great day!! xoxo

Happy that you talked about today being 918. LOL Crazy Day? It's also Mei Mei Huff's bday so I will send her a message but don't think I will call her a crazy gal. LOL

mmmm The soup looked delicious BUT it was the In n Out that really got my appetite going! Like Jeannie I stared at those burgers for a long time! lol Since John is on his annual fishing trip I just may go buy one for myself! :)

Lydia..... "a bun" ????? HA!!! If I can't have the whole double double animal style, just a bun would be sacrilegious! xo

Had a fun time at the retired Dep monthly lunch today in Vegas....no one ate hamburgers..mostly had salads... chickee nelson said to say hello...saw steve and joan raber too and ron baltierra was there...big group this time and all remember you and Hubby.... sad to see on moon's list per Ben Hunt that Pappy passed away. Talked to Hadley James yesterday..he's now in Vegas and may do some business with my husbands alarm co. Good to see old friends and catch up. Hugs...
