Rice A Roni Salad ~ The Call ~ Picture of the Day

Good 54º gonna be another hot one morning. 92º and will be hotter today. Need to mow so will do that when done with the blog.

Dinner last night was a "Rice A Roni" salad... Cook the Rice A Roni and let it cool. Cut up celery, carrots, sweet peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, shallots, 2 chicken thighs, and mix it all up, add fresh crispy lettuce, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise mixed with a little lemon and some Worcestershire sauce, sea salt and pepper. Thanks Jeannie for the idea!!!!

"The Call" with  Halle Berry... Abagail Breslin...
Most of the film seemed to be shot in the dark. Hard to see. I hate those kinds of films. Halle was an LAPD 911 Operator. Why is she the best manicured operator in the building? The rest are somewhat plausible. So a young girl gets kidnapped. Apparently Halle is the only one who can talk to the girl... no hostage negotiators avail? The end of the movie is just TOO WEIRD... Halle goes after the girl (no weapon...just a flashlight...), finding her and her captor. The police can't? Then the end is just not up to snuff. COME ON! I didn't like it. Waste of time and money. I do know something about 911. This movie gets an F.

It's a good thing I didn't have time for my morning read until just now or I would have made the cookies):-

Thank you for confirming what I suspected about the movie. The only darkly lit movie which made any sense to me was Master and Commander- old ships insides are dark- so it worked. But for the most part I prefer light to authentic. For instance if Saving Private Ryan was authentic- we would have not seen the movie for the smoke.
