MGM Lion ~ Chicken Thighs in Garlic Sauce ~ Mexican Rice with Artichoke Hearts/Tomato/Garlic ~ Bucket List?

Good 60º morning. 6:30am:

Yesterday the weather guess was 109º. Well, nope. Hit 92º and stayed cloudy all day. Humid.

I went to Ray's Market...
When I arrived all the doors on both sides of the store were open. I asked one of the gals "why"... since I could feel the AC working. She didn't know. When I went to the check-out I asked the checker. She had no idea either so since the manager and assistant manager were right there she asked them. They had no idea either and ran to close the doors! DUH! They are up in front of the store and DON'T NOTICE the doors are open????? OMG.

Got some chicken thighs and rice cakes. Put thighs in slow cooker for 8 hours (Maggie's food), slathered peanut butter and rosemary honey on a rice cake. YUMMM!

PICTURE of the day....
Filming the MGM logo.... wow.

Since yesterday was National Tequila Day I poured one and toasted my Darling.... his fav was tequila!
Well, when we first met he drank Jack In The Black and Wild Turkey. I liked tequila better and he eventually decided he did too! See what an influence I was on him! LOL.

Dinner was skinless boneless chicken breasts, sauteéd in olive oil and butter, and simmered in Progresso Garlic Starter Sauce.
The side was my favorite flavored Mexican rice with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and garlic.
OMGOOD!

Tam... go to www.amazon.com and type in the search window "Uncle Ben's Mexican Infused Rice". They have it ... but you have to buy 2 5 pound bags. I have written Uncle Bens a note and asked where you can buy it in Modesto. Their site is www.unclebens.com and also on FB at https://www.facebook.com/unclebens

Laughing at Ann's posted sign! Isn't that the truth!!

Interesting read about Louise Brown. God Bless those parents that there was a way to conceive their babies! We thought for awhile there that Deb would have to go that route for a baby. However, by the grace of God everything worked out and our Isabella was born!
That Picture of the Day is amazing! Can't you just see that photographer and sound guy trembling in their boots!? LOL

Sue -- I don't know if you remember it, or ever had a chance to visit, but at one time there was a private zoo in Thousand Oaks, the Jungle Compound, later called Jungleland USA. Jungleland was the home of Leo (MGM), Mr. Ed (the talking horse), and other movie animals. I remember going there several times and seeing Leo. I remember that there was this old lady (I really think that she really was pretty old, but at that time anyone over 25 was old to me.) named Mable Stark who worked with the tigers, she put on a great show -- an old style circus/animal act.

Take care,

Dale
