Salmon & Eggs ~ Dude ~ Pasta/Meatballs/Spinach ~ "Babs" ~ Zucchini Bread

Good 36º clear morning. Supposedly hit 80º yesterday, but it was breezy and comfortable. Today there is 0 visibility at the coast. Big old fog moved in. Will be low 80ºs here today.

An old joke:
I've been in love with the same woman for 49 years. If my wife finds out, she'll kill me!

And one of the world's shortest books:
THINGS I WOULD NOT DO FOR MONEY
By Dennis Rodman

Breakfast yesterday was so yummy! I heated half a can of salmon in a frying pan. Mixed up 3 eggs with some ricotta cheese and added them. Cooked, turning often. Drizzled on some sweet hot chili sauce. Voilá! Some egg left so put on toast for lunch.

Yesterday I took Dude to his old vet's, Dr. Mike, for a heartworm test. We got a new collar that works for 8 months keeping fleas and tics off him. It's interesting and made in Germany! Dr. Mike said he's using them on his dogs and they seem to work great. Ok, will give it a try. Cheaper at about half of the cost of Frontline for 8 months! He also got heartworm meds. He was very good and the staff at the vets were all happy to see him! On top of that, he's lost 11 pounds. He was overweight to the tune of 100.1 pounds... now he's 88.7. I am feeding him Beneful. He loves it.

I told you about him pulling out of his collar to follow me... well he was in the back of my SUV. I stopped to visit Leah (my friend/hairdresser). We were talking and Dude climbed from the back to the front seat and jumped out the window! OMG. He doesn't want me out of his sight! Got him back in the truck and Leah just fell in love with him! What a nut he is. Can't get out of the truck and leave the windows all the way down when he's with me!

Back home and a chat with BFF and some wine. Then dinner....
Angel Hair pasta, veggie meatballs, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, parmesan cheese, basil, butter, and olive oil.
Sauté mushrooms, tomatoes, meatballs, basil, and a pat of butter.
Add spinach, cooked pasta, and parmesan cheese. Heat through.

Outstanding!

In regards to the note on Barbra Streisand being such a beeeotch in yesterday's blog.....this from my friend George B......

A few years ago, when I still lived in CA, I went to a seafood restaurant Newport Beach with some friends. While we were enjoying ourselves, Barbra and her man, showed up for dinner. No reservations, imagine that. Anyway, they got seated and had their meals. The entire place knew that they were there. No one cared. It was hilarious to overhear some of the conversations about them. All were unimpressed. No one went to visit them. The conversations were about what assholes they are. Why do they think they should get any preferential treatment, etc. They both look way older in person. Proof that money can't buy you love.

     Side note....
A friend of mine has a friend who owns a restaurant in Montana. "Babs" and Brolin came in to eat, wait was going to be 30+ minutes. She pulled  the"Do you know who I am?" crap and the owner, a veteran, said he did and she'd have to wait like everyone else. They stormed out! I'm sure there was applause!

All I know. Happy Thursday. Nuff said. Ciao.

April 25th
National Zucchini Bread Day
(Why? It hasn't even grown in my garden yet! Seems to me this day should be celebrated in August or September. But... this is one of my favorites!)

Good Morning,
As we discussed yesterday, your breakfast yesterday looked yummy. You always make your plate look so appealing with the vege side dishes, healthy. I would have been lazy and slapped down a piece of toast. LOL
Boy, you sure are going to have to keep an eye on Dude. Can't believe he jumped out the window. That is pretty scary. He would probably like to put a leash on you! That way he won't lose you. That is awesome that he has lost weight.
Al Pacino has seen better days. Good grief. He looks so nice cleaned up.
Of course your dinner looked
scrumptious. I will have to buy some of those vege meatballs. Are they from Costco? Look tasty.
"Babs" definitely has a major "tude", but she does have some great songs. Too bad her personality sucks. Oops, can I say that? Guess so, I just did. LOL
Zucchini bread, one of my favs too. Is strange that this is National Zuke Bread Day. You know, is there a "National Day" for everything?
Okay, enough ramble. Have a wonderful day, and we will chat later. xo

Lol- that Dude is something else. I must remember to eat before I read your blog! I am salivating!! Both meals look soooooo good!

Sideways has been itching but the Vet said he saw no fleas. IDK? We gave him some Benadryl- maybe it's allergies? Love t and g

Dude is certainly a character. I am wondering if he has had issues in the past of being abandoned? I never really got the story of why your UPS man gave him to you. Some man in a parking lot gave him to the UPS man but he couldn't keep him?? It was so good of you to take him. Seems you are doing the right thing with his food. Awesome that he's lost down to a healthier weight. Do you feed him once or twice a day? We used to feed ours only once a day.

Great hearing those stories about Bab's! I have always loved her songs but can't stand the person!

mmmmm that bread looks so moist and heavenly! Remember that restaurant in Pasadena where we all met at Christmas time two or three yrs ago? Oh my that was good bread! Didn't you buy a loaf to take home?

@ Tammy, he could have dry skin. He may be allergic to wheat. Is it in his food? If so you might try lamb and rice. Give him a love from me~!

@ Trish, the problem with Dude is that he was left alone day and night in a dog house in the backyard. He wasn't allowed in the house. Now he is around someone who loves him, pets him, gives him treats, and he's in HEAVEN and doen't want me out of his sight! I feed him twice, but less than he was originally getting.
Yes, that bread in Pasadena was THE BEST! Need to go back there. xo

Sue,

Kev and Deb's pup Delilah also had a bad itching problem. Scratches herself raw but no fleas. They are back to the vet's office, yesterday or today.
Oh yea, Kev is sick with vomiting and fever today so it must have been yesterday.

I will ask them about the wheat in her diet. Wonder if Dynovite would solve the problem. I hear about it on the radio all the time.
