Snow ~ Holiday Workout ~ Pasta & Sausage ~ Chocolate Covered Anything

Good 36º raining morning.

Yesterday.....

The snow started coming down about 15 minutes after Jeannie emailed me it was snowing in Grants Pass. That was about 8:20 am. Snowed for a while. Stuck to the ground and then melted off. Temps got to 36º (heat wave!)

Saw this on FB and also sent to me by Dan Patz (LASD ret) .... funny!
This is my Holiday Workout.....

Historically this date.....

1773American Revolution: Boston Tea Party – Members of the Sons of Liberty disguised as Mohawks dump crates of tea into Boston harbor as a protest against the Tea Act.

1811The first two in a series of four severe earthquakes occur in the vicinity of New Madrid, Missouri. These four so-called mega-quakes are believed to be an ongoing cataclysmic danger that could reprise the 1811-12 series of 2,000 quakes that affected the lands of what would be eight of today's heartland states of the United States.

1985Mafia: In New York City, Paul Castellano and Thomas Bilotti are shot dead on the orders of John Gotti, who assumes leadership of the Gambino family.

1997 – An episode of Pokémon, "Dennō Senshi Porygon", aired in Japan induces seizures in 685 Japanese children.

?????? OMG, you have to click on the link "Denno Senshi" and read about this. Amazing.

Yesterday afternoon I went to Bill and Jeannie's for our "Christmas exchange". She made an awesome crustless quiche. We had wine and chatted in front of a super snuggy fire! Nice.

Oh GAWD, we dressed alike!

Chaka was a doll .... the girl loves dog cookies!
Don't take your eye off Aunt Sue, she has cookies!!!!

Gadz, another shooting (without any injuries) at Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach, Ca. And one in Alabama at a hospital where a suspect opened fire on police. Another incident earlier in the same area left 3 people dead. A 18 year old in Oklahoma was arrested for plotting to shoot students at his high school. Good Lord. This needs to stop!

All I know. My "Patsys and Jeannie's 40Whiners" (Thanks Jim Harper!) are playing football today at 5:30 pacific time. GO PATS!!!! Beat the pants off those whiners!!!

Here's an easy pasta and sausage dinner....
1 pound Italian-style sausage, casings removed
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium-sized green bell pepper, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (14-1/2-ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 pound rotini, twist, or spiral pasta
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
In a large skillet, cook sausage, onion, bell pepper, and garlic over medium heat until no pink remains in sausage, stirring to crumble the sausage. Reduce the heat to low and add tomatoes, mushrooms, Italian seasoning, and chili powder; simmer 10 minutes, or until heated through.
Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions, drain, rinse, and drain again. Place on a large serving platter

Pour sauce over pasta and top with mozzarella cheese. Serve immediately.

Happy Sunday. All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

Go NINERS!!!!!!!!!
Moving right along...The picture of you and Chaka is cute, I needed makeup, Yikes. Next time call and let me know what you are wearing. LOL Nice time. Thank you.
The pasta and susage dinner sounds really good and comforting on a cold night. Will try that for sure. You know me, I will probably use just a bit more cheese.
Enjoy the game. I have to get busy so I can sit down and watch my Niners whip your Pats. ciao for now. xo

LOL Before I even saw your comment about it I was going ask if you two planned to dress alike! lol Now I could understand if you had both been in red because of the season but that's just weird. You two must really be in tune!

Interesting photo of Lauren Bacall and her children. Before I read the label I thought the gal on the left was Lauren. She sure looks like her mother! I must say that Bogart didn't have as good looking children as Robards! That's the best pic I've seen of Lauren since she's gotten old.

Love your snow! Too bad it melts so quickly but I sure wouldn't want to drive in it if it was heavier.

One of my "R" and FB friends has a daughter who lives across the street from the mall in Newport. She was supposed to go out to her office Christmas party but was afraid to even go out to her car so she stayed in. Glad she did because she's safe.
Doesn't it seem to you that these things happen more frequently at Christmas time? Sad.

Hugs, Trisha

Jeannie and I were both dressed for the cold.... tops with long underwear shirts underneath. Mine is an old LASD shirt with a shirt lining.

Yes, seems like the 'loose screws' come out at the holidays~! xo

It's okay if you and Jeannie dress alike, but if the dogs start wearing the same outfits it's time to do less of the Christmas workouts!):-
