Cop Humor ~ What is Benghazi? ~ Sandy ~ T's Famous Potatoes ~ Navy Day

It's rainnnninggggg............ and 46º. All my babies are accounted for. Bruiser was a bit wet when I went out on the porch to feed him. Guess the weather doesn't bother him. Maggie likes to be toweled off when she comes back in. Harley sniffs at the door and turns around back to his windowsill.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saw this on Cop Humor FB page.... so true!
"Oh.. you're a Police Officer?? Oh.. you're a Firefighter? That's cool. What do you make?"
"WHAT DO I MAKE?? I make holding your hand seem like the biggest thing in the world when I'm cutting you out of a car. I can make 5 minutes seem like a lifetime when I go in a burning house to save your family. I make those annoying sirens seem like angels when you need them. I can make your children breathe ..................when they stop. I can help you... survive a heart attack. I make myself get out of bed at 3am to risk my life to save people I've never met. I make your family safe from the drug crazed neighbor. I make you and your family safe when you hear someone downstairs at night. I make sure your elderly grandparent is found and safely back home. I run toward danger while others run away. Today I might make the ultimate sacrifice to save your life. I make a difference, what do you make?"
National Potato Day
Trish's Famous Layered Potatoes:
1. Potato slices
2. Sliced onion
3. Pimento and diced green bell pepper
4. Salt and pepper
5. Soup
Begin with a layer of sliced potatoes in baking dish. Add a layer of sliced onions. Add pimento and diced bell pepper. Add salt and pepper to taste. Top each layer with the soup mixture. Usually makes two layers. Cover and bake at 350º for an hour.
Soup mixture:
Mix a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of cream of celery soup with 1/2 cup milk.
** Now you know me. The celery sounded good in this but you could also add a layer of thin sliced zucchini or yellow squash... Canned diced green chilies..... Sliced mushrooms... BACON!
Sliced elephant garlic..... Cheese! ..... Experiment! **
National Navy Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWfWQ3Bpo1o Many nations around the world celebrate their navies, with a special day dedicated to them. Each country selects a date relevant to their navy, often the birth date of the navy. In the United States, Navy Day is commonly celebrated on October 27th. This date was selected as it was the birth date of President Theodore Roosevelt, an avid supporter of the U.S. Navy. In the 1970's, research determined that the birthday of the U.S. Continental Navy was October 13, 1775. At the time, efforts were made to move Navy Day to this date. However, Navy Day in the United States, is still largely recognized as October 27th. On Navy Day, give some well deserved attention to your proud U.S. Navy, and to the sailors who serve our country.......Salute!
Just a random question, not to be argumentative, but why is it when someone doesn't agree with your political views, you make disparaging comments about it or them because you think your political view is the right one?
