Eclipse of Sun ~ Lisa's Birthday ~ Deer Turkey Maggie ~ Quiche Lorraine

Moon phase new... 0% full...next full moon will be June 4th.

Good 47º scattered clouds morning.

I am on my laptop and not a happy camper. My keyboard for my desktop died yesterday. After several attempts with new batteries it's gone. The old keyboard from another computer has the wrong plug in for my current one so it's off to Staples this morning to solve the problem.

Today is the solar eclipse.... viewable from right here in Oregon (prime spots are So. Or and No. Cal) .... we will be watching and photographing... from a "eclipse deck par-tay" at Dee and Dale's later today.
This is an informative video...

OMG, this guy is hilarious.... a British perspective on the death of Osama bin Laden... well thought out and the last 30 seconds are PRICELESS! (Thanks to Wilsonite Ken Heinneman for this)

Today is a special lady's birthday... Lisa Short (good thing she wasn't in the military, huh! SHORT, Lisa!!!) ... she is the sister of my pal Olga Duran.... (Jimmy...LASD Sgt) ..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!!
Lisa and her beautiful family....

Historically this date...
526 – An earthquake kills about 300,000 people in Syria and Antiochia.
............good grief! you wonder how "they" came up with that figure!
1873Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis receive a U.S. patent for blue jeans with copper rivets.
....... (I have about 40 pairs of 'original made in the USA' levis... worn....if anyone is interested...contact me for size availability and price. now they are being "heche en mexico" !! )
1927 – At 07:52 Charles Lindbergh takes off from Roosevelt Field in Long Island, New York, on the world's first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. He touched down at Le Bourget Field in Paris at 22:22 the next day.
1932Amelia Earhart takes off from Newfoundland to begin the world's first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean by a female pilot, landing in Ireland the next day.

And births this date include....

1818William Fargo, American pioneer expressman, co-founder of Wells, Fargo & Co. (d. 1881)

1919 – George Gobel, American comedian (d. 1991)

1936Anthony Zerbe, American actor

1946Cher, American singer & actress

1954 – Cindy McCain, American businesswoman, wife of John McCain

1958Ron Reagan, American talk show host

Yesterday a couple of visitors..... this beauteous young buck (spike)

And Ms. Turkey was sitting in the grass

(sorry the 'red hot poker is in the way)

... and of course, Maggie was enjoying the cool grass for a nap....
.... which is exactly what I wanted to do after sitting on the riding lawnmower for 3 1/2 hours! I was ready for the 'home'!!!  A couple more hours to go and all will be mowed. Not today. Maybe tomorrow.

All I know. Hope the clouds go away so we can see the eclipse. Next one will be in 2017. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

Looking forward to tonight's gathering and the viewing of the eclipse. Don't forget your cardboard with the hole in the middle, that is if you don't have the special glasses.
Maggie has quite the life. She looks sooo comfy!
Boy, Cher sure has changed, and not looking that great I may add. Wow!
Quiche Lorraine one of my favs.
Happy Sunday to you, and we will chat later. xo

mmmmLove Quiche Lorraine!

What a pretty lady and a beautiful family Lisa has!

A few years ago Daryl made a killing with Levis. Somewhere he found brand new RED tag Levis and sold them for a nice profit. Many pairs. Don't know WHY they are valuable but guess they are.

Have fun tonight at the eclipse par tay!!

XO Trisha

You ought to look up Cher's mother's picture. She's the beauty in the family.

Quiches are a family favorite- but trying to do with less crust so the diabetes stays in remission.
