SB Commercials ~ Fettuccine Alfredo

Good 42º (wow, no ice!) morning! Full moon out there, kids, be careful! I'm stayin' in! Also, Sunday I did drive through the car wash....
30% chance of precip today!

Sorry, no blog yesterday. Was in a 'mood'. Better now.

At Brian & Jen's on Sunday....
I had high expectations....

Tucker and Sami patiently awaiting the arrival of guests....

Eyeballing Bobo's taquitos and guacamole....

Bobo's crab pie...
(Recipe on Feb 1st's blog)

Daddy has a 'cone' on his spot for the game! Woe be the fellow or gal who takes his seat!

Wheeeeee...... Sami has 'electric hair'!

Brian's chiropractor's son, Ben, was totally in love with Atlas!

Historically this date...
1935 – The classic board game Monopoly is invented.

1962 – The United States bans all Cuban imports and exports.
............I sure wish that would happen with China! Danged Chinese made products are all inferior!

And births this date include...
1804John Deere, American manufacturer (Deere & Company) (d. 1886)

This was Jerry's 1941 John Deere that my high school friend, Jon Harting, bought. Thanks Jon, for taking such good care of Jerry's pride and joy!

1812Charles Dickens, English novelist (d. 1870)

1867Laura Ingalls Wilder, American author (d. 1957)

1885Sinclair Lewis, American writer, Nobel Prize Laureate (d. 1951)

1908Buster Crabbe, American swimmer and actor (d. 1983)

His name just never did suit him!

February 7th
National Fettuccine Alfredo Day

For Fettuccine all’Alfredo, the fettuccine is cooked in the same skillet in which the sauce is made. The original recipe was created in 1914 by Alfredo Di Lelio, owner of Alfredo alla Scrofa restaurant in Rome. In a restaurant setting, the hot fettuccine are tossed with the cheese, butter and cream and, as the cheese melts, it unites with the butter and cream to form a coating or “sauce” for the pasta.
In Italy, “Alfredo sauce” and “Fettuccine Alfredo” are not common terms. Long before Alfredo created his recipe, Italians enjoyed fettuccine al burro, fettuccine with butter, or fettuccine al burro e panna, with butter and cream, both served, of course, with grated cheese. Alfredo just tweaked the recipe slightly. When butter was added both before and after fettuccine was put in the serving bowl for tossing, it was known as doppio burro, double butter.
Di Lelio doubled the amount of butter in the bowl before the fettuccine was added, creating a triplo burro, triple butter, recipe: more butter made more of a sauce. The chef created the dish to entice his pregnant wife, who had lost her appetite. He served it with egg fettuccine, hoping that the “nutritious dish” would do the trick. Today, we know that a typical serving of the “nutritious dish” has 455 calories, 38g of fat, 291mg of sodium and 143g of cholesterol. But for people who love rich, creamy food, it hits the spot!

Oh Sue, my tum is growling looking at those taquitos! You sure made a pile of them! YUM! Crab pie, mmmmm
Loved seeing the kids, Brian and Atlas. Of course that was a darling photo of you in front of the TV. You were all decked out!

Mu fav commercial, too, was the VW one with the dog that was too fat to get thru his doggie door. He was so cute doing his exercising so he could make it thru and go chase the VW.:) Adorable! There were a few I liked and the one with the Clyds. Bud horses comes to mind. Loved it but there were better ones of them in the past.

Glad you are feeling better and up and running today!
Hugs, XOX Trisha

Thanks T! Yes, I like the Budweiser commercials from the past too, where they showcase the horses and the dog. As for the taquitos... I made 77, gave a few to Jeannie and the rest went to Brian's. I think tere were probably 20 left... Brian was a happy camper! They won't last long. Crab pie was great too.

Well the PAT's didn't win, DAAARN ! My only consoling factor was I WON the 3rd quarter AND the 4th quarter numbers on the Board . I had 5 different spots at $5. ea. Winning $100. in 3rd Q. and $200. in 4th Q.
Not a bad return. ( I also would have won in the 4th Q.anyway, before the last T D. Sure wish the Giants hadn't done that-----

Thanks for the GREAT Blogs LUV
