Good 35º foggy morning!
Something I strongly believe in:
“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.” -Audrey Hepburn
My BFFs make me laugh. It's wonderful! I am Blessed!
Remember the short video about the crabs..... well Jon Ainsworth (Simi Valley PD ret.) sent these two along the same lines.... about 30 sec each and HILARIOUS!!!

Retraction re the beach law as I reported yesterday....this from a high school pal, Greg....
"Re: Frisbee
There has been a lot of mis-reporting on this law by the inept media hounds that call themselves journalists. Actually, the law has been on the books in LA since the '70s. It can be enforced by police and life guards only between Memorial Day and Labor Day, whenever they deem a situation to be unsafe for the public at large on the beach. The fine for a first time violation is less than $100, but can increase to $1000 max. with repeat offenders.

Today is special in several ways.... first it's my Brian's birthday. The most special Valentine I ever received!
With my mom first day home from hospital, with me a couple of weeks old, with his sis Kristen and mom 6 months old, 2 years old, and at Grandma and Granddaddy's, 3 years old, having his favorite food, an apple, and watching TV with Granddaddy's head phones on, poser, USMC!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Brew! An early celebration on this past Sunday...
'Adopted Grandma' Jeannie brought Valentine's Day suckers for Sami and Tucker....
Steak dinner with all the trimmings.... marinated Cartwright's steaks and chicken, buffet of Jen's corn bake, Sue's sauteéd mushrooms, Jean's salad, green beans, baked potatoes, and we also had Jen's version of Northwood's Inn cheese bread, and Jeannie's brie melted in a bread bowl. Oh, and Jen barbecued the steaks PERFECTLY!
Brian, Jen, Sami, Grandma Jean, adopted Grandparents Bill & Jeannie, Tucker.... (again, I'm hiding behind the camera!)
Oh boy, mom's cutting the cake!
Today is also Jerry's mom, Winona's birthday. She is 89.
And today is Aaron (Jerry's son) and Marie's 1st wedding anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY kids!
(Grandmother with Aaron and Marie)
Historically this date...
1778 – The United States Flag is formally recognized by a foreign naval vessel for the first time, when French Admiral Toussaint-Guillaume Picquet de la Motte rendered a nine gun salute to USS Ranger, commanded by John Paul Jones.
1929 – Saint Valentine's Day massacre: Seven people, six of them gangster rivals of Al Capone's gang, are murdered in Chicago, Illinois.
And births this date include...
The doc visit was fine. I have been experiencing a really painful ankle for weeks and thought it could possibly be gout or something of that nature. Nope. It's part of the arthritis I have and the ankle is inflamed from fluid there.
He wrapped it in an ACE bandage and said to keep it elevated as much as possible! Ok, fine. It's feeling better already!
So then I went shopping at Harry & David's. They were having a 2 fer. I also got an extra 15% off because I have a AAA card. Cool. Bought some chocolate wine (product of Holland .. "a taste of Dutch chocolate and fine red wine".), flax seed chips, sesame garlic herb chips, chocolate cherry coffee beans, and macadamia toffee coffee beans, tortellini soup mix (since yesterday was National Tortellini Day) and some fajita chili soup mix.
Then onto Target for Dunkin' Donuts Cinnamon Spice coffee, and some Archer Farms 'Tiramisu' coffee "notes of rum & cocoa followed by a rich creamy finish". Then to Ray's Market for cat food, stir fry soba noodles, broccoli slaw, fake crabmeat, baby carrots, 2 movies on sale for $5 each, and some raspberry merlot on sale for $4.
Going to Medford it was cold, 35º, and still snowy...
Coming back home it had warmed to 45º and snow was mostly melted......
Today is 'catch up day'. I will be calling Brian and singing Happy Birthday (lucky you, Bri), calling Grandmother and my friend Pat Goslin (husband was Avalon Fire Chief) and singing HB to them too, and calling Aaron & Marie to wish them Happy Anniversary. They were all sent cards and gifts.
All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

Happy Valentine's Day! Wow, there was a lot happening on this day. Happy Birthday Brian! Sure glad we got to help celebrate early.
Nice to hear you don't have something seriously wrong with your ankle, and it is just the natural aging process. LOL I feel your pain!
You made out like a bandit on your shopping spree. Anxious to hear how that chocolate wine tastes.
Enjoy your day, chat later. xo
Jeannie
Thanks! Glad you and Bill could join in on the party! I'm saving the wine for a special occasion. I am having some of the Tiramisu coffee right now and it's GOOD!!!
Wow is right! Valentine's Day is really a special day in your life!! Happy birthday Brian!! Happy Anniversary Aaron and Marie!
It looked like a fun dinner party and the food looked scrumptious!!
Have a good day and keep that ankle up!!
XO Trisha
T, Valentine's Day ceased being a romantic holiday after B was born! LOL. It just became his birthday. Then I married Jerry and his mom's birthday was the same as B's. Funny thing, Halloween is Kristen's birthday, and Jerry's dad's was the same! Talk about co-inky-dinks! We were meant for each other! xo
