Turkey Eating Grapes ~ Elks Card ~ Good Neighbor Day

Good 57º, somewhat cloudy, morning. Wow, warmer than the past two mornings by 15º. AND, I kept the windows closed so I didn't freeze last night!

Now if you can believe this sh*t....
California has gone completely around the bend if they even for a second, consider this!!

Yesterday ....
Turkeys in the grapevines, eating the grapes!

Too funny. I looked back at my blog a year ago and also had a picture of a turkey eating grapes!! Some things don't change.

Then I went into town.....

First stop, car wash....

Ahhhhh... now old Betsy is clean again! Pretty day in Grants Pass....

Reno has their sign, GP has theirs!

Then to the cleaners, Hallmark card store (where I spent too much time and $....but it was fun!) Then I went to the Elks Lodge and got my very own member card. For a mere $2 a year I can have a card being a widow of a member. Cool. Well, not 'cool' that I am a widow, just that I can have a card! Get me? So now I don't have to be "buzzed" in, I can open the door myself!

So, I stopped to see Willie, the bartender, and wish him Happy Birthday.

September 28th
National Good Neighbor Day

?? Hmmmm..... not.

In 2003, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution, sponsored by Montana Senator Max Baucus, making September 28, National Good Neighbor Day. Previously, this day was celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September.

Sue,

I am just speechless! You know it takes a LOT to do that! I am still seething about those mentally ill women who believe those little rubber dividers in the grocery checkout line represents segregation!! YES IT DOES! Separating one customers groceries from another!! It's good for the poor checker too! Sorry if any of your readers are Democrats BUT they have lost their minds if they even consider thinking about this stupidity! What with all the severe problems we have in this country and they would actually give this stupidity a second thought is beyond me!! So glad I don't live in or near San Freakincisco!!

GRRRRR Still seething!!
:) Have a nice day!
XO Trisha

Don't get too worked up over it T. Maybe someone with a brain will intercede. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Pretty soon you will not only have to take your own bags to the market, but the dividers as well!!! LOL .. Sorry. xo

There are some places politics should not go unless the purveyors wish to let the world know they have issues as micro-managers.

Any mature system ought to remove a law for everyone added. It would be interesting to know what someone who would interfere with the segregation of personal purchases from other customer's goods would remove.

I do take my own bags to the store. Sometimes I even remember to take them out of the car trunk before I enter. But I avoid shopping in any jurisdiction that insists on their use.

The small charge for disposable bags may not be much to me- but it is to so many people- so I object with the only way I have- by purchasing where freedom is valued over forced correctness.
