Good 53º sunny clear morning. Late start today. Didn't get up until after 7. Exhausted. Helped Brian and Jen with the final moving out yesterday. Very warm day, had to be 84º at least. Humid. UGH.
We vacuumed and swept and carried out the last of the things. Stuff was loaded into Jen's car, Jean's car, Brian's car and a trailer. I ended up with a few things to bring back here. Their storage facility is full so this stuff went to Jean's storage under her house. Not easy to get to, as Jean said, "You have to be a goat to get there." Here's a few pictures... Brian and Jen waving goodbye to there house, Sami and Tucker in hats and inside a cabinet.....
I stopped by Bob and Candy's for a bit. They poured me a tall cold wine that really hit the spot! We had a nice visit. Their garden is beautiful and had just acquired a new Japanese Maple ($$$), but with a German name on it. Beautiful, teeny tiny green leaves with red around the edges. Similar to this...
And Baron was his cute lively self...
(Although, this was taken at my house last week!)
After I did some minimal help unloading at Jean's I came back to RR and attended a "happening" at PatC and Tim's. Sort of a Father's Day BBQ and belated party for Tim's birthday.
I had a glass of wine, watched them play horseshoes, and chatted.
Tim wasn't cooking, Barbara and PatC were, but he had to show off his Niner's apron. (Booooo Niners!) <g> (Photo credits to Debbie)
Came home and fell into my chair!
Just in case you feel the need to cook a beef roast.... here's my recipe for success.
3# roast + Salt Pepper + 300º oven + 3 hours
Perfect every time.
Here is a new site with the new USDA's logo, the plate, instead of the pyramid. Interesting and lots of good info here.
If I can just remember.... "Eat less. Move more." Sigh.....
Historically this date....
-
- Lizzie Borden took an axe
- And gave her mother forty whacks.
- When she saw what she had done
- She gave her father forty-one.
And births this date include....
Audie Murphy died broke in a plane crash in 1971, squandering million of dollars on gambling, bad investments, and yes, other women. "Even with the adultery and desertion at the end, he always remained my hero," his wife Pam explained in a recent interview. http://thepalomar.blogspot.com/2010/05/great-lady-dies-pamela-murphy.html
I loved her in Steel Magnolias!
He has battled alcohol and his weight. He is doing well now!

Do you think a nutrition shake is a good substitue for a milkshake-(:
Happy Moving! While they put things back, may they find everything where they think it is.
Bob Vila is a personal hero. And Anne Murray- a voice as smooth as that milkshake you have me obsessiong over...
I think a "nutrition shake" is probably your best choice!
