~ John Wayne ~ Diet Dinner ~ Blueberry Cheesecake ~

Good 41º cloudy morning. Rained on and off all day yesterday. Wonder what is in store for us today!

Went to town to the market. You'd think we still had a full moon the way some of the locals were driving. OMG. What idiots. Too fast. Too slow. Tailgating. And generally just not paying attention!

Today was John Wayne's birthday. Marion Michael Morrison born on May 26, 1907 and died on June 11, 1979.
The Morrison's in my family are related to him. Jerry's mother named him John Wayne Maxwell. His dad said, "NO". So Winona decided to change it to Jerry Wayne Maxwell. That worked.

.....

The rain really came down for awhile yesterday. Looks like we got about 1/3 of an inch.

This little hummingbird was keeping an eye on the feeder and sitting on the weather vane.... turning back and forth with the wind.

.... and if there aren't enough meatheads talking there is Harold Camping, the idiot who predicted the end of the world on May 21st. He used 'numerology' ! Brilliant.
Now it's going to be "Rapture" on October 31st. Lordy.

Look, I have an artichoke already!

Sitting here at my desk I can watch the bluebird activity...

They keep busy even when Maggie is out there, but when Harley wants to go our and peruse the porch, they birds panic!

Spent the day doing indoor stuff. Sorted out the pictures from Debbie's birthday fiesta and got them emailed off to her. Worried about Maggie... she just won't eat. Sigh.....

At almost 6pm last night we had a lovely sky...

Dinner was (part of my diet) Chicken Parmesan Pasta on a bed of lettuce with broccoli, red peppers, and avocado. A drizzle of lemon juice on the salad parts and a little olive oil. Good!

Historically this date...

 Now what?

So far, the finales of all the shows on TV have been over the top disappointing. Say you?

If it doesn't rain I have to mow. Keep thy digits crossed! Otherwise, it's indoor projects. Have a good day!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Thursday.

What an interesting group of birthdays. Who can forget Peggy Lee singing, "How much is that doggie in the window..."

We rarely watch TV series, so can't comment. Other than I am totally hooked on Camelot and Game of Thrones mini-series. Just for the music, the mini-series are a cut above anything on standard channels.

Blueberry cheesecake--- will have to see if I left enough on a bush. The berries tend to disappear while I am out gardening.

Sue,
Oh I thought the finale of Idol was fabulous! Normally I hate sitting and watching just singing but last night I thought it was great! They had so many greats on to sing! Loved the duets of the famous with the contestants.
Our neice, Penny was in the audience last night! Lucky girl! (She has five grown kids!:)
Boy, Ford was sure generous! Gave the two finalists a Ford of their choosing after presenting their favorite teacher (who were invited there,) a Ford each also!
The night before was the Biggest Loser finale. I was happy with the winner but disappointed at the end when it was over so quickly. After watching the entire season, one would like to see some of the celebration afterwards! They did that on Idol. Scottie sang a very fitting song and went out in the audience and hugged his parents, relatives and friends who were there in the front row. Also hugged the judges. All that while he was singing. That was precious.
I am not a prude but I must say that I was a bit embarrassed by Lady Gaga's performance which was too sexy for that show. I heard some rumblings before the news about it.
Wasn't surprised with the finale of DWTS tho. I just knew Hines of the Steelers would win. He seems like a truly sweet guy.

Have a great day and hope it stays dry for you so you can mow!! :):)

I'm glad T that you enjoyed those shows. I just can't wrap my interest around those types of shows. I was more interested in The Mentalist, NCIS-LA, etc. And as for Oprah's last one, I had recorded it, but before I watched it I deleted it. Anothe one that makes me gag.
