~ Eagles ~ Marine Corps League ~ Buttermilk Biscuits ~

Good 49º morning. Wow, a heat wave.... a tropical heat wave. The temperature's rising, It isn't surprising, She certainly can can-can.

Warm because of a cloud cover... and "they" said rain today...
Looks like it's a possibility!

The Decorah Iowa eagles are growing...

Yesterday I made a run to town, got Maggie's meds refilled, stopped at the market with a coupon for BF Mayo for $2.49. Natch I found the stupid coupon in the car after I purchased the mayo! Duh. Then to the VFW for the Marine Corps League dinner and meeting. This isn't us... but similar....

Our dinner was pulled pork, corn dressing, and peas with water chestnuts. Really good! During the meeting I was escorted  by the Sgt. At Arms, Wayne, to the front where the Commandant, Herb, swore me in as an Associate.

I have to say, that was the longest swearing in I have ever participated in. The one for Deputy Sheriff was wayyyy shorter, and we carried guns! Even the one for President of the Untied States is shorter. Cinda took pictures, so maybe she will share them with me. It was a nice evening and I enjoyed it. My friend Adria, from JCRW, is Jr. Vice Commandant and we had a nice chat... along with a couple I just met, Dottie and Woody... really nice folks. Ellen and Bud were also good to see and visit with. And the good thing about their dinner meetings now is that they are held 3 miles from my house!

Historically this date a whole bunch of stuff, war stuff, happened but the strangest was......

Let's try this again....

Love the Patch. Do we need to salute you now when you enter room):-

Buttermilk biscuits. Can do. With sausage and gravy. Poached eggs and fruit. Won't need to cook again all day.

Ciao Chow-
