~ Ice ~ Hat ~ Happening ~ Chocolate Mousse ~

Good 24º morning! This is exactly why we don't plant anything here until June!!!

Clear clear skies this morning. Nice for a change, but too cold for me. Ice on the barn roof and you can see some on the ELA picture..

Yesterday PJ, Patty, Claire, and I went to the JCRW 1+1 Luncheon.

It was very nice, a little too long, but nice. We had lunch, a bunch of prizes given away, a hat contest, and volunteers with loads of hours worked were given cash prizes and certificates.

(Flag, badges, and turkey feathers!)

 I didn't win.  :o(

After we got back home we went to Dave and PJ's for a "happening". Any excuse is good, and it's been a while (about 3 months)  anyway, so the excuse was their cat, Neko's birthday! Patty Cliff Debbie Tom Mike Pam Dave PJ PatC (and her visiting sister) Johnette Maggie and me. We all brought food and our adult beverage of choice.

Ashley: Isn't it enough that you've gathered every other man's heart today? You've always had mine. You cut your teeth on it.
Scarlett: Don't tease me now. Have I your heart, my darling? I love you. I love you.
Ashley: You mustn't say such things. You'll hate me for hearing them.
Scarlett: I could never hate you. And I know you must care about me. Oh, you do care, don't you?
Ashley: Yes, I do care. Oh, can't we go away and forget we ever said these things?
Scarlett: But how can we do that? Don't you... don't you want to marry me?
Ashley: I'm going to marry Melanie.
Scarlett: But you can't. Not if you care for me!
Ashley: Oh my dear, why must you make me say things that will hurt you? How can I make you understand? You're so young and unthinking. You don't know what marriage means.
Scarlett: All I know is that I love you! And you don't love Melanie!
Ashley: She's like me, Scarlett. She's part of my blood and we understand each other.
Scarlett: But you love me!
Ashley: How could I help loving you — you who have all the passion for life that I lack? But that kind of love isn't enough to make a successful marriage for two people who are as different as we are.
Scarlett: Why don't you say it, you coward? You're afraid to marry me. You'd rather live with that silly old fool who can't open her mouth except to say yes, no, and raise a passel of mealy-mouthed brats just like her!
Ashley: You mustn't say things about Melanie.
Scarlett: Who are you to tell me I mustn't? You lead me on, you made me believe you wanted to marry me!
Ashley: Now Scarlett, be fair. I never at any time-
Scarlett: You did! It's true! You did! I'll hate you till I die! I can't think of anything bad enough to call you!
[Scarlett slaps him. He exits and in her fury she throws a vase. Rhett rises from behind the sofa.]
Rhett: Has the war started?

Sue,
Your hat was darling. The meeting looked and sounded very nice but I wanted to hear what was on the menu. Was there a speaker? Looked like a great attendance. How many new members did you get?
How nice that you and friends had a "happening".
I loved GWTW also. Mother took me when I was a young girl to see it. I still remember the GASP in the theater when Rhett said "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn"! Wow! How the movies have spiraled down since then! I cringe at the language they use now.
Chocolate mousse day? When I hear that I always think of my bunco friend, Linda's picture on her kitchen wall. It's a big moose dripping with chocolate. I laugh every time I see her chocolate moose.

Hugs, XO Trisha

Thanks, T !! No, no speaker, just games and prizes. We had 30 new people, it remains to be seen how many join. I like the idea of the chocolate moose picture in Linda's kitchen! xo
