~ 3-14 ~ Geese Ducks ~ Sami's Birthday Party ~ Shiloh .. yet again. ~

Good 36º morning.  Yesterday we got .64" of rain. Most of it in about an hour. This morning it's foggy. More rain expected through the week and we were told upwards to 8" of rain will fall.
Today is day 3 without internet for me. The phone company said they would "overnight" my modem. Well, it never came yesterday! So I wait.
The second pair of geese and the one single goose have returned now, making 5 total. And Mr. and Mrs. Mallard are here too....
Four in the pasture and one on the barn roof.
Opened the gate early yesterday in anticipation of the modem arriving. Noticed one of the hinges is broken. Swell. One more thing. Waited until 12:30 to leave for Sami's birthday party at her other grandmother's house. Got to the gate and there was Shiloh! Couldn't leave her, as she would follow me and get hit by a car on the road! So, in the car she goes. Muddy feet and all.
Took her home and was upset with Gerard and Maria. They both acted like.... 'sigh, this is a nuisance'. YES IT IS! I explained again about the collar and the perimeter wire. "But we have 20 acres." No dummy, you don't wire the entire 20 acres, just an area you want to contain Shiloh in.. include the patio so she can get in the shade, etc. "What do we do when we want to take her for a walk?" TAKE OFF THE COLLAR DUMMY! Oh boy, I was upset.
Sami's party was so fun. Jen and Jean had decorated for a Princess Party! All the little girls in fancy princess dresses and Sami was the prettiest!

Jen had all kinds of crafts for
the kids to make and games to play .. and Jean and Jen
made lot of food.... mini taquitos, chicken/cheese casserole,
meatballs, and had guacamole, salsa, and chips.
And then the rain thunder and lightening came! Lights
flickered. LOOK AT THE RAIN COMING DOWN!
The party went on..
I came home, the back way since trees were down and
lines across the roadway. In Rogue River all the power
was off and all the businesses closed. I couldn't get a
few things I needed at the market. Trees uprooted
and lots of branches on the road! Everything ok here.
Power was on but there was some wind damage on
my porch...
Made a fire. We got snuggy. The storm really bothered
Maggie so she stayed close. Over 74,000 residences
without power in Jackson and Josephine Counties. How
lucky are we!!

WELCOME BACK GF!!
We were worried about you! Didn't think to call but I am guessing L did as she told us about your modem problem.
LOVED the pics of Sami's party! I am just so impressed with Jen and how wonderful she is with the kids. Sami looked adorable in her princess dress.
How scary all the storm damage around there. Hope your birdhouses are fixable. Glad it wasn't any worse.
Guess the rain will travel south as it is supposed to be raining over the weekend in Sacto while we are up there at convention.

Hugs and missed you!
XO Trisha

Guess we should batten down the hatches in case the storm comes in hard here this weekend.

Ah, Thank you Sue for the birthday wishes... You haven't missed a single birthday wish for many years and I treasure not only your friendship, but your diligence in honoring your friends on their special day. You are a great lady and you inspire me regularly.
Glad you are up and running again and that the wind wasn't too aweful. You've certainly had your share of it this year. Still keeping Maggie in our prayers and trusting for good health and energy. Also, Gary & I sure enjoyed the pics of Sami's princess party... such precious moments that made us both smile.
Hugs to you and your furry clan from So. NV
