Good 31º foggy morning. Snow all melted. Boo hoo....
Be careful out there kids, full moon!!
The summit yesterday was scary....
I have to say that yesterday was interesting. Since it had snowed I thought how great I have no meetings, shopping, or anything to leave the house for.
Then at 9am Leah called. She does my hair. She asked if I was going to make it at 10. WHAT? I had written on my calendar "Leah hair 10am" on today's date. I found her card with "Thursday Feb 17th 10:00" on it. Duh. She also told me she wanted to call me the night before about 8:30 but thought it might be too late. Imagine. She's NEVER called me to remind me about an appointment, EVER! She is psychic! OMG. She had some premonition that I wouldn't be there unless she called. I am sooooo impressed! I love that girl!
So, got my hair done/cut/colored. Leah's daughter Marley, a sweetie beyond words, had broken her shoulder, actually her humerus. That is the bone of the upper arm and her's broke just below the shoulder.
Marley is 10. It will take about 6 weeks for the healing. She can't go to school. No cast for that, just a "chest mounted sling" to hold the arm
immobile. She stays with grandma and grandpa when Leah is working but they were heading to the coast so dropped Mar at the beauty shop along with their sweet little pooch, Kyle. Here are three of my favorite people...
Leah...
Marley....
and Kyle....
(Not really Kyle, but a good facsimile... and I "fooled"
with the pictures with Photo Shop!)
Ok, came home and at 2:30 got a call from Brian. Their power had gone off in the night. Snow of about 6". No shower, Brian headed to work but it was impassable as trees had fallen across the roadway and there was no way for him to get to the office. Thank GOD for Emily. She held down the fort.
I was hungry when I got home. Patty had told me she made my Mac and Cheese the other night so that sounded good. I made it with whole wheat elbows instead of regular, a mixture of cheddar and Mexican blend cheeses, butter instead of margarine, buttermilk instead of regular milk, and an assortment of spices, added cut up Kielbasa, chopped tomatoes, canned sliced mushrooms, sauteéd bell pepper and shallot, fresh mozzarella cheese balls, and sliced jalapeño stuffed green olives.
I didn't use the Ro-Tel, fresh tomatoes instead.
Mix all together.....
Mix eggs, milk (buttermilk ... which was GREAT) and spices...
Pour over top....
2 pieces of sourdough in the food processor until crumbs,
add pats of butter and pulse until crumbly.... put on top.
Bake and enjoy.
If you are interested in the original recipe that contains macaroni, margarine, cheese, eggs, milk, cayenne pepper, and sourdough bread crumbs ... email me. It's really good and EASY. What makes it so easy is that you don't have to cook and melt the cheese with the milk.... and OMG the sourdough bread crumbs on the top are crunchy and wonderful. I was so thrilled with the ingredients in this particular batch..... HEAVEN!

Pretty pretty bride. Handsome groom!
A long and happy life Aaron and Marie. xoxo
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Friday!
Maggie goes to the vets for a weigh in and her temp taken today. She's
still drinking 2 gallons of water per day, loss of appetite, and losing some
weight, which the vet said would happen. I'll pick up some canned dog food to tempt her to eat.

I can do that!!

Drink Wine Day?? Yup! I can do that too! In fact I can honor the day every day of the year! LOL
Ohhhh yuummmmyy! Your casserole looks heavenly! John brought home a diet book from a lady officer about no or low carbs. Folks at the station have been dropping pounds on the diet and he wants to do it. Ohhhhjeeze! I hate these diets where you have to count, watch, weigh whatever. I believe one should eat in moderate portions of anything. His problem is that he can't eat much of green leafy veggies.
Anyway, it didn't stop him from eating the slice of apple pie I brought from Marie C. last night. Also a slice of chocolate for today.
Sue, did you know Mary Ann Freeland in the department? She worked Transportation. Her daughter (Kim I think is her name) is a deputy also. Well she lives in Wrightwood and drives down for the PHRWF meetings. She always gives me her pie to bring to John.
Amazing that you got that call about getting your hair done. I have done that too, written it on the wrong day.
Poor Brian! Hope he got to work today!
Hugs, Trisha
Nope, name sounds familiar but don't know Mary Ann. I agree about diets where you have to do all that. YUCK!
I think B made it to work today. Just cold last night, icy, but no snow. xo
Aaron can literally tuck his new bride under his arm! Again, congrats to the newlyweds and I send out my congrats again.
I finished all my legal paperwork early this morning, about 2 a.m. Went to bed about 2 a.m. today and nearly froze my butt off. My second load in in the washer, and I can now hardly keep my eyes open. Dick just left for Cabazon, and I am about to leave for the bedroom!
I am making ham and scalloped potatoes tonight with peas.
I am going to dispute my dress (which is suppose to be in transit) and look for a new one.
Dinner sounds good. What's wrong with the dress?
Aaron & his Marie make a great looking couple. Thanks for sharing their wedding photo.
I hope Maggie gets her appetite back soon. Keep me posted.
