Yesterday Maggie and I went to the post office, bank, and to Ace.
Hi Dan. "Big Dan the Man!"
Today is Law Enforcement/Fire luncheon. Will report back on that
later....
The vet called last night. Maggie has Atypical Cushings Disease as
reported back by the University of Tennessee. She will have a 'doser''
injected under her skin at the neck that will dispense one of the meds.
That will happen this week. "Atypical cushings is an abnormal
elevation of hormones, not steroin hormones like in typical Cushings. It usually has the same physical symptoms such as thin skin, bilateral alopecia (symmetrical hair loss), a pot belly, increased thirst and urination, panting. The University of Tennessee Endocrinology lab has a standard profile that tests for elevations in several reproductive hormones."
Historically this date...

Heavenly Hash Day
1 c Mandarin oranges, drained
1 c Pineapple chunks, drained
1 c Flaked coconut
2 c Miniature marshmallows
1 c Sour cream (high quality)
1 tb Sugar (I use equivalent Splenda)
6 Maraschino cherries for the Garnish (optional)
Mix all the canned fruit, sugar and coconut thoroughly in mixing bowl. Fold in the sour cream and marshmallows. Transfer to decorative serving bowl, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Right before serving you could garnish with a few maraschino cherries placed on the top of the salad.

Poor Mags! Give her a hug and scratch from us. I was born in a town called Cushing- <3 t and g
Interesting about your birth town! xo
O I love "heavenly hash" but I always called it Ambosia, the same? Also, the version made with pistachio pudding.....yum, yum, yum!
Del...
Yes, Heavenly Hash is also called Ambrosia. ox
I guess we all make mistakes. Even groundhogs.
Nice list of celebrities.
So glad Trisha had better taste in a lifelong companion than Farah.
Best to Mags. And her companions):-
Sue,
I copied the Heavenly Hash recipe then as I looked at it I thought "I have been making this for years and call it Ambrosia!" My version calls for oranges with segments of the orange de skinned! Lots of work so I stopped doing the peeling of the skin. Have never done the cherries but, nice touch. I like to make it when having ham on Easter.
Glad you got the test results back for Maggie. It is good to have an answer so now they can treat her. Hugs and kisses to her!
Thank you for the yell out for our anniversary! Have your card in here and look at it and laugh all over again! LOL Will take it with me and show friends at Curves luncheon and bunco!
Hugs and have a good time at the luncheon today! Have a drink for John and me!

Sounds like Maggie is going through "The Change." Your friends make a lovely looking couple. I love Ambrosia and make it for summer brunches. Accoring to Mr. Groundhog Spring is right around the corner! But, he is correct only 49% of the time, LOL. I wanted to try a Sweet Lady Jane Bakery birthday cake, but Carolyn told me they are too dry and the help is snobby. Oh, well. Signing off, Sarah
