~ Chinese Feast ~ Atlas ~ Homemade Soup ~

Good 24º morning. (Actually now, at 10:45, it's 40*) Burrr.... again, but not like the rest of the country. Actually some the warmest places in the good old US of A were on our coast line where it was in the mid to high 60º's! I think we warmed to 62º, but I'm sure in the LA basin it was warmer. Nice for the kids at Disneyland today. In fact, Brian called from the Disneyland Hotel this morning and said he and Tucker both are wearing shorts and t-shirts. Wow, such a difference from here.

So yesterday, Brian stopped by with Atlas. Maggie was happy to see him. He was sad though when Brian left. He howled. And then he howled some more. I brought him in, gave him a treat, and he seemed good most of the rest of the day. Late in the evening he sat looking out the door. Waiting for Brian to return, no doubt.
While Brian was here I had him take out the third row of seats from my truck so Atlas would have room. Put a dog bed back there. Maggie sits in the front seat (natch!)

We went to town about 3:30 to the Red Dragon Chinese restaurant. I told the proprietor "Happy New Year!" He seemed genuinely happy I did! He laughed and said he couldn't tell me that until January 1, 2012. The "Year of the Rabbit"... but, no thank you, I don't want to eat rabbit! I like them cuddly....

I ordered my Chinese New Year take-out and we came back home. I had a FEAST! ....   Pork fried rice, spring roll, orange chicken, lobster puffs, pink sauce, and potstickers. I only ate half of the food, and have plenty for leftovers! AND, very inexpen$ive, really, for two meals!

I was thinking.... (dangerous, I know!) about making a soup from the leftovers. What do you think???

We had a snuggy fire and watched TV.

Check the link below. I was shocked to find
EXACTLY where I am right now on Google
Earth.... NOT a house or street, but where I AM
right now! It's unbelievable, and will find the
exact location of any Internet user in a second,
using a sophisticated algorithm.

At 9am this morning Maggs had an appointment with Dr. Ron. We (Maggie, me , and Atlas) all went. They stuck an implant into the back of her neck. She has to return in 4 months, then 6 months from that. I will keep records of her water consumption and relay the info to the doc. She also will be on a couple of pills, a couple times a day. Sigh.... Keep thy digits crossed for her.

People are pretty shocked at what the computer knows. I don't use photos from current happenings just for that reason- location is often embedded in property file. No tweets, same reason.

chicken broth and leftovers sounds grand.

Bach and Cooper share the same birthdate? So much for horrorscopes):-

mmmmmmm leftover Chinese food. Oh that plate looked so wonderful I would just eat a rerun of it and not bother with the soup thing. My fav food, Chinese.
Oh that Betty Friedan is a piece of work! She looks the part too!
I had to laugh at Atlas and the look on his face sitting in the car. Talk about a hound dog look. Is that a sad face or his normal look?

So the kids are wearing shorts and a tee shirt here? Yeow!! All week I wear sweats with turtle neck socks muffy house shoes and a heavy jacket! All day long! It's in the 50's outside but must be in the 40o inside. Much better with shutters up but still cooooold!

Fingers crossed for Maggs!!

Hugs, Trisha

Atlas is funny... with his long ears and long jowls, he looks sad, but when he's happy he actually smiles! I have GOT to get a picture of him doing that!!!! xo

Happy to hear Maggie is receiving great medicine today. We leave Junior at his foster mother's when we go out of town, and I just know he most likely reacts like Atlas!Burr, it is cold there in your neck of the woods, but not as cold as Anchorage the last time I spoke with my cousin Joe! Dinner tonight at Black Angus, together with my "free" dinner coupon for my birthday from them, today I received a "free" appetizer coupon today from them, which I can use as well tonight!
