I was thinking about all the "Pats" I know.
For starters my football team is the 'Pats' (Patriots)
Then there are my girlfriends up here
Patty, PJ (Pat), PatC, PatT
In Wash state there is Pat R (Patrick)
In Texas there is Patty McN
And in California there is Patsy G, Trish B, Patty R, and
Pat K (Patrick)
Holy cow... that's (Patriots excluded) 10 Pats!

My niece, Mel, who had a birthday yesterday, wrote and sent a picture of
a yardstick in their front yard with snow up to 30"! They live in Reno.
Yikes. She said all schools were closed, nobody going to work. What a mess. Then I got a picture, well .... Debbie posted it on FB .. of PJ in short sleeves standing between two Saguaro cactus...

So I had fun with it and Photo Shopped PJ into the
deep dark phallic phorest....

 LOL
 (Actually these are "verpa conica"
mushrooms from New Mexico!)

Yesterday Maggie and I went to town. Took her to the vet's
and she weighed 4 pounds less than the last visit. Her temp
was 101º. I walked in and Laura

was at the desk. I told her the
doc wanted Maggie's temp and the longer she had to wait the
higher it went because she was nervous. Laura RAN to the back
and came back with a thermometer. What a brave girl. She's not
the tech! Good job Laura! xo When the vet said I needed to take
Maggie's temp, I said, "I'm not putting my thermometer in there!"
Ewwwwww...... Laura was explaining to me how she had to take
her horse's temp,

(yes, that's her horse) and how he'd pull his tail
so tight against his butt that it was near impossible
to move it. Such fun.

Then we went to the post office and picked up Patty and Cliff's
pills that came via US Mail and they are gone to the coast. Then to Rays
for canned dog food, celery, avocados (5 for $5, yeah), heavy duty
foil, and something I can't remember.

Maggs had her first meal of canned Pedigree dog food with a handful of
kibble thrown in. She LOVED it and cleaned the bowl. Maybe she won't
be losing weight so fast now. Vet was worried.  She just wasn't eating. Even for treats she'd turn her nose up.

Dinner was a little filet mignon, au gratin potatoes, both cooked on the grill ... and a tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese salad with Greek feta dressing.

Yummy. That was one of the Omaha Steak dinners I got for
SUCH a deal! The potatoes come rolled in a ball. I thawed it
and smashed it down, sprinkled with olive oil and cooked
on the grill. Easy.

All I know. Too cold to do anything outside. Will concentrate on closet/bedroom cleaning out and get stuff ready for the Goodwill.
Yippee. For some real excitement there are bed sheets to wash and
floors to vacuum. Oh boy. Happy Saturday. Nuff said.

AAARUGHHHH.... I just looked outside.... it's SNOWING!

You can just barely see the little flakes coming down. (8:07am)

February is Potato Lovers Month

Mash your potatoes with Philadelphia
Cream Cheese Chive and Onion Spread,
Garlic and Herbs, Sweet Chili, or Onion and
Black Pepper. OH MY! GOOD! Get creative!
I bet the salmon spread cream cheese
would even be good!

Sue,

Oh I am keeping positive thoughts for Maggie. That is scary tht she wouldn't eat and has a temp. We went thru that with a couple of ours and we tried everything with no luck. Glad to hear she ate the canned food. It's probably soothing. We always heated our dogs food in the micro before serving. Since they were outside dogs we figured they needed the warmth.
We Lola sat last night Daryl went to work. She is so funny. I think she gets hurt feelings that Daryl leaves her so she has gotten to where she finds toilet tissue or anything paper in the waste baskets and shreds it. Tipped over the bathroom trash and when I discovered it she was on my heels. All I said was UH OH and she disappeared fast! Found her sitting high up on one of the stairs. lol She makes us laugh so much.

I see you finally brokeinto your Omaha steaks. I grill mine on my GF grill too but never thought to do the potatoes on there. Always bake them. Last night for the first time tried the ground beef patties. Had them with those very thin "buns" that are out now. The whole wheat type. Also hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, lettuce, tomatoe and onion. John had soup with his but I figured it was enough food for me without soup. I made the mistake of putting slices of Colby cheese on each patty then leaving the lid down for a tad too long. All four patties were then stuck to the top lid of the grill! LOL

Your Photo Shopped pic of PJ was a hoot!

Have a good cleaning day!

XO Trisha

Get well Mags.

Warning- While true, this could be TMI for the timid-

EXTREME Potato lovers are found in the emergency rooms near college campuses for "extraction" of spuds from certain orrifices. Otherwise known as why close male friend withdrew from pre-med at UCLA.

Thanks T. (One of my 'Pats')
Sounds like Lola is a kick. She knows. Yes, the instructions for the potato rounds said to bake them or fry them in a pan with a little oil. Thought the grill sounded better. xo

L, are you on a potato high? What in the world are you talking about?????

It sure looks beautiful and cold up your way, and yes I can see the snow flakes on your picture. On the cold side here too. It was 38° when Jake & I got back from our morning walk, though the temp has gone up to 42° so far. Still have a lot of clouds floating overhead, and they are expecting more rain later on today.
I wonder what's up with Maggie that her temperature is up. I hope she'll get her appetite back so she can recoup the 4 pounds she lost. Did the vet give you any idea what's up with our girl?
Stay warm and cozy inside and have fun getting a lot of projects done.
