~ Brownie Waffles! ~ Boy Scouts Birthday ~ Lazy Lasagna ~

Good 29º morning. Had 12 or 6 drops of rain yesterday.
Don't know what's in store for today.
Rain may be coming Saturday.
This morning a few clouds hanging out..

and some geese were flying over...

Yesterday we had a great sky and about 3pm we got the misting rain..

I was 'playing' with Photo Shop on the following picture.
Interesting concept...

By 5pm we had a beautiful sunset...

Ok, yesterday I was pissed at the way OUR National Anthem
was sung by that piece of trash. Apparently Christina caused
a stir all over the country. Lots of interviews with disgruntled
game watchers re her rendition.
Thank you Ann for sending this....(click the link)
This is EXACTLY how it should be done!!! (And Tommy boy is there too!) Who the heqq is in charge of the programing for the Super Bowl? He/she should be taken out of there and FIRED! Who are they putting in that position to choose, teenagers???

'Texas Dan' wrote me about the betta fish and said put a mirror by the fish bowl. Sure enough Shshi thought it was another fish in there and is moving around and hanging out looking at the mirrored fish. Wow. Thanks Dan!!  Question ... if he's the only fish in the bowl, would he be the 'master' betta?  (I know.....   :o)

Yesterday I was watching the Rachael Ray Show. I have come to the conclusion that her talking with her hands has finally gotten to me. She is constantly waving around her open hands and I'm sure she'll say it's her Italian heritage. BS. It's irritating! Anyway, I do like her recipes. She made a "lazy lasagna" by breaking up the lasagna noodles into pieces, cooking them, mixing the noodles with cubed roasted butternut squash, ricotta cheese, and topping with a bechamel sauce and more cheese. No layering. How easy is that! (click the link)
Now, you could easily use your favorite marinara sauce or meat sauce instead of the squash and escarole. I think breaking up the noodles is a spectacular idea!!!

Then, be still my heart, she kicked off "Waffle Week". She took a package of brownie mix (add chopped nuts and maybe dried cranberries) and poured it into the waffle iron to cook. OMG. I was drooling all over the controller!!! Top with ice cream and maybe chocolate or caramel sauce. Oh my. Today she's making grilled ham and cheese waffles.
Now, where is my waffle iron????

My Patriot's quarterback, Tom Brady, became the first EVER
unanimous winner in the award’s current format, earning all 50
votes, for Most Valuable Player. In short, Brady took pride in
his award, but would have rather been playing in Texas Sunday
night.“It’s a great award,” Brady said, “but playing in the Super Bowl
is the greatest award that any quarterback could be doing this time of year.”

I love him and his Patriots, but maybe now Tommy will cut his hair!
LOL

He grew it long, I know, for the superstitious fact they
were winning the season. Back to being the handsome
guy he is...

Maggie and I took Atlas to his dad yesterday.
I picked up his "stuff" and was heading out the door.
He realized he was going home and go soooooo excited!
By the time we pulled into the State Farm parking lot he
was howling! Happy boy to be back with his family.
He loves me to pieces, but you know how it is.....
Home is best!

We came home, everyone got dinner. For me it was one
of those too easy dinners... a can of Double Noodle chicken
noodle soup, added fresh carrots and broccoli, more chicken
stock, sliced garlic and diced onion. Mmmmm....

Had a roaring fire, Harley on my lap. TV, happy happy.
Then I had a great short chat with Candy. Bob is doing
really well from his shoulder surgery, but alas Candy is
having some issues from her eye surgery. Be well soon
girlfriend! Also chatted with Linda. She related the Super Bowl
party she and Andy attended and is sending me one of the
recipes, cheese cake, she said was off the charts good!

Where are you Claire???

All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

Go Fly A Kite Day

Or maybe... instead of flying a kite,
could just tell someone that irritates
you to "go fly" one!!!   :O)

Brownie Waffles are legal? Be still my heart. And my blood sugar reading.

Tom Brady is in the handsome stratosphere with David Beckham. They can shave their heads or do the Sampson thing- the pride they carry themselves with overcomes fashion.

On Miss Aguilera's Super Bowl performance. There is a tendency for artists to use the National Anthem like it was a cross stitch sampler. A vehicle for all the talents within. Better to simplify and focus on the material.

May her next performance rise to her talent.

I just posted a Chocolate Waffle Recipe on FB. You use a gluten free Chocolate Cake mix.

I cannot stand R.R. she never shuts up. And I am tired of being called KID. If I watch her- I keep the sound on mute.
The Lasagna sounds like a great idea though.Luv- T and G

I'll let my gluten free friends know about your recipe.... Thanks. As for RR, yes she is most irritating. I recall one of her first shows she had her mother on... and continually called her "MA" in that NY accent that sounded so wrong in so many ways! xo

love your info, great pictures.... when I read your info it always makes me hungry...I like R.R., there are things about her I don't enjoy all the time but think she has some wonderful good ideas as far as food!! You can always just get her magazine or cook books and not have to watch her wave her hands around!! works for me.....$10.00 for a year of her magazines, not bad, but remember to share them with your friends. I never even thought about waffles for dessert, but why not?

Thanks Nancy! I watch RR because I like to see how the recipes are put together. Just reading it isn't as much fun. She doens't talk with her hands while she's cooking!!! LOL xo
