Mo' Fog! ~ Snuggy Fire ~ Popcorn ~ Tempura Day

Good 29º gloomy foggy morning. Again! Yesterday not one ray of sunshine. Oh, the weather man said up on the mountain you could get in the sun. What, 2500 feet? Swell. Looks like we are in for more of the same. Possibly rain on the weekend. Of course! My truck is clean now.

Yesterday I went to the dealer to have my oil changed in my truck, the wheels aligned, and see about the malfunction in the rear door. Seems as though I pushed the "lock" button on it unintentionally and so that was solved! The lobby at Roe still had their Christmas tree up....

Comments were made by a couple of those waiting. One man said they always kept their tree up until January 6th. I said, "Today is January 6th.... Three Kings Day". "Oh."  (smile)

Stopped at Colonel Sanders on the way home to pick up some coleslaw

and hot wings

for Patty and Cliff. Dropped them off later and had a cocktail while the guys, Brian and Dan (?), were finishing up their new double-paned window instillation. Really nice and so much warmer inside their home.

Came home and made some vegetable and cornish hen soup. Mmmm... Nice and hot. Hit the spot. Then we had a fire and got snuggy with some popcorn and our favorite TV shows....

The log got really hot and the newly glued insulation on the door worked perfectly....
CSI was on.... one of my favs.....

Sorry, there was nothing outside to take a picture of! Just fog!

Historically this date....
1904 – The distress signal "CQD" is established only to be replaced two years later by "SOS".
... odd. What would CQD stand for? "can't quite decide"? "captain quit driving"? "come quick, danger"?
1952President Harry Truman announces that the United States has developed the hydrogen bomb.
1999 – The Senate trial in the impeachment of U.S. President Bill Clinton begins.
(.....what a bunch of inept ass holes!)

And births this date include....

1911 – Butterfly McQueen, American actress (d. 1995)

1922Vincent Gardenia, Italian-born actor (d. 1992)

1929Terry Moore, American actress

1948Kenny Loggins, American singer

1956David Caruso, American actor

 Weird weird weird weirdo!

1957 – Katie Couric, American television host

   .... beeeotch!

1958Linda Kozlowski, American actress

... since 1990 still married to Paul Hogan!

1963Rand Paul, American politician, senator-elect from Kentucky

1964Nicolas Cage, American actor

 Another weird weird weird weirdo!

1966Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, American publicist (d. 1999)

Ok, nuff said. I have some JCRW stuff to do and then get my hair cut. My phone is acting up (lots of scratchy noise) so Brian said he had an extra phone he would give me and see if it's the phone or connections...... always something!
Happy Friday

LOVE your thoughts on what CQD might have meant. Normally, I would go look- but it couldn't possibly be as much fun.

Stay warm!
