Picture of the Day and Interesting info..... WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge Tennessee

WonderWorks is an entertainment center focused on science exhibits with five locations in the United States. The company's slogan is "Let Your Imagination Run Wild". Its buildings are commonly built as if they are upside down. The experience is considered an "edu-tainment", a combination of education and entertainment. It contains over one hundred hands on exhibits that challenges the mind and many activities for guests to explore.
Each WonderWorks location contains interactive, entertainment exhibits on the themes of space, physics, and math. Some locations also offer a dinner magic show, as well as a 4D XD motion theater. Each WonderWorks building is designed to look as if an existing building was ripped free of the ground by severe weather and dropped upside down on its roof. This unique design was originally brought to life by architect and Orlando native Terry O. Nichoson of Nichoson Design International at WonderWorks' original Orlando location. Nichoson went on to serve as the main design consultant for all subsequent WonderWorks locations.  All locations offer laser tag and a multi-story ropes course. The Myrtle Beach location has an outdoor ropes course and zip-line.

Different regions of the country have their own way of making baked beans. This recipe for Southern Baked Beans is cooked up Southern-style, which means that it's flavored with classic ingredients that add just a bit of sweetness.

  • 1 (15-1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-1/2-ounce) can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar chili sauce
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground mustard
  1. Preheat oven to 325º. Coat an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Pour into baking dish.

  3. Bake 50 to 60 minutes, or until beans are bubbly and sauce has thickened.

Observed every year on May 24, Brother’s Day honors the brothers in our lives.  Whether we have one or many, our brothers hold a special place in our hearts.  Even if for those who don’t have brothers, someone in their life is usually like a brother to them.  Brothers from other mothers are found in a best friend, a brother-in-law or a cousin.  They are the men in our lives we count on even when we don’t talk very often.  We share memories, challenges that frequently began with the phrase, “What’s this!” soon followed by a few stitches.
They are the men in our lives we count on even when we don’t talk very often.  We share memories, challenges that frequently began with the phrase, “What’s this!” soon followed by a few stitches. While minding their own business, they are also prepared to step in when necessary.  That’s what brothers do.
Of course, they’ve been known to put toads on your head or gum in your hair.  They may have been too cool for you once, too.  Brothers come in many shapes and sizes and so do their relationships.  Whatever yours is, take the time to celebrate your brother on Brother’s Day.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Enjoy time with brothers and reminisce.  Find time for new brother siblings to spend some fun, enjoyable time together.
HISTORY
C. Daniel Rhodes of Alabama founded Brothers Day.

And........................ it's also YUCK! Would NEVER eat a snail! Spent too much time getting rid of them from my garden!

National Escargot Day is observed each year on May 24th.  This day is in honor of the famous French dish of cooked land snails. Escargot is enjoyed by many. However, it is an acquired taste.  It is usually served as an appetizer in French restaurants.
Escargot {es.kar.go} is the French word for snail.
The dish of Escargot is usually prepared by removing the land snails from their shells, cooking them with garlic, butter and wine. They are then placed back into their shells with the sauce for serving.    The dish is served with a special fork and tong for easier dining.
Escargot are high in protein and low in fat (without the butter).

I'm so glad I didn't miss this post.

"Let Your Imagination Run Wild." What a wonderful slogan. We should make it a goal to foster imagination.
