Interesting about Baby Jessica....

"Baby Jessica," Jessica McClure Morales was born March 26, 1986, in the oil city of Midland, Texas. She was born to teenage parents, Reba "Cissy" McClure and Lewis "Chip" McClure.
She became famous in 1987, when, at 18 months old, she fell down a 22-foot well in her aunt's backyard. She remained trapped in the well for 58 hours, while America watched on CNN, before being rescued. How exactly she fell into the well remains unclear. According to her mother, the opening had been covered up by a heavy rock to prevent just such an accident. "I didn't know what to do," Cissy McClure later recalled. "I just ran in and called the police. They were there within three minutes, but it felt like a lifetime."
Finally, on the evening of October 16, 1987, she was lifted safely out of the well. The Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of her rescue, snapped by Scott Shaw, shows her cradled in the arms of a paramedic, her head wrapped in white gauze, her arms caked in dirt, her bleary eyes just barely open. Over the next few years, she underwent 15 surgeries to treat all of the complications from her three days trapped without food or water inside the well. She ultimately did regain full health. A missing small toe on her right foot and a prominent diagonal scar across her forehead are the only permanent physical signs of her ordeal. Paramedic Robert O' Donnell one of the first on site battled PTD as a result of the arduous rescue effort, committed suicide in 1995.

She can't even remember the words to our National Anthem!!!

I just received an email about Cyndi Moreno, wife of Pete Moreno (LASD ret), who passed away in her sleep on December 15th. She put together cruises for Deputies on the Go, several of which I went on. This is heartbreaking. Rest in peace lovely lady.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Bake Cookies Day comes at an opportune time. It arrives amidst the major December holidays. It serves as a reminder to bake holiday cookies, if you haven't done so already.
People, young and old, celebrate this day by baking their favorite cookies. Make a party of it, and bake cookies in groups with family, friends, kids and grandkids. Don't stop at baking just one kind of cookies. Plan to bake a number of cookies. Try a new recipe, or two, or three, or....
If you bake more than you can eat, good for you! Wrap up gift trays filled with cookies for friends and neighbors. Most cookies freeze well, too.
Important Note: we are very surprised that Bake Cookies Day is not immediately followed by "Eat Cookies Day". We did not even find an Eat Cookies Day. So you can, and should, eat them everyday!.

Oh I am so sorry about your friend Cyndi. You had some great cruises that she had organized. How sad for her family especially at this time of year.

Betty Grable! My mother used to tell me if I drank lots of milk I would have legs like her. Well that was one lie my mother told me! Betty's legs were insured by Loyds of London for one million dollars which was a fortune back then.
