Heat ~ Rain? ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Mike Hannan ~ International Firefighters Day ~ Star Wars Day

Good 55º sunny morning. We topped at 91º yesterday. We'll see what today brings... supposedly (hmmm...yes, "supposedly") we're going to get a 'thunder storm' later today in the area of 2pm. Also it is "supposedly" going to be cooler.

Ah... Happy Throw Back Thursday... Here is Brian on the Masonic Lodge float for the 2005 Boatnik Parade in Grants Pass...

Yesterday I did a bit of housework before going to pick up Sami and stay with her and Tucker til Brian got home.

Special Birthday today... Mike Hannan (ret. JaCoFire and former Fire Chief in Rogue River) HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!!!!

With that being said, Mike certainly made his birthday a special day being born on Star Wars Day... May the 4th be with you! Today is also International Firefighters Day!

Good job Mike!!!

Historically this date....

1776 – Rhode Island becomes the first American colony to renounce allegiance to King George III.

...................YEAH Rhode Island!

1904 – The United States begins construction of the Panama Canal.

1988 – The PEPCON disaster rocks Henderson, Nevada, as tons of space shuttle fuel detonate during a fire.

1998 – A federal judge in Sacramento, California, gives "UnabomberTheodore Kaczynski four life sentences plus 30 years after Kaczynski accepts a plea agreement sparing him from the death penalty.

And births this date include..
1929 – Audrey Hepburn, Anglo-Dutch actress (d. 1993)

1937 – Dick Dale, American guitarist
..... and the Del-Tones. We'd go to Balboa to see him!

1954 – Pia Zadora, American actress

1959 – Randy Travis, American musician

Later dinner was leftover pub cod with a dab of wasabi mayo , fresh spinach, fresh mozzarella, and Mediterranean stuffed olives...

Oh, and by the way, I found my sleep number. Yes! It's 3.

That would be 3 glasses of wine!!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

May 4th
Star Wars Day

It's all because of a play on words!
Star Wars Day is May the Fourth, because of a famous quote from the hugely popular science fiction series blockbuster is "May the Force (Fourth) be with you"=
Great ways to Celebrate Star Wars Day:
Watch any of the great Star Wars movies
Better still, have a Star Wars marathon, and watch two or three (or 4) of them.
Get out your laser sword and practice for the next invasion from the Evil Empire.
Send a Star Wars day Ecard- of course they have them!
Have a Star Wars costume party.
Learn some Star Wars Trivia, there's no shortage.

LOL LOL For a second I thought you had bought a Sleep Number bed! :) I never know how many glasses I drink because I drink mine from a brandy snifter from Carnival Cruises. I add ice to it because the box won't fit in the frig. I do have some Charles Shaw too.

I'm surprised that you don't stay and cook dinner for the kids and Brian. Bet they would love that.

Yes! What a great day for a fireman to have a birthday! I love love love our firefighters especially after Tuesday's fire behind our house and across the freeway on the hill. They got that thing under control in an hour! Prisoners were helping too along with a big yellow helicopter. Well you know because I sent photos. Pretty scary stuff when you can hear the crackle of the fire burning the dead brush. :( Thank God for them and for the police too. They were there also.

Actually T, I do have a sleep number bed!

As for cooking dinner for the kids... would be possible if they didn't have baseball practice, baseball game, and Sami's gymnastics every afternoon. Brian comes home and then runs back and forth with the kids.

Yes, thank goodness for firemen! xo

LOL Brian is getting a real "dad" workout! :) I remember when my boys were involved in sports and the high school band. I used to say that I met myself coming up the street. LOL

Hope Brian and the kids eat out a lot now. :)
