Clouds/Wind/Rain ~ Century Link Paul ~ Geese ~ Dee Yellin ~ Laura & Conrad ~ Elk ~ Limerick Day

Good 41º cloudy morning.

Boy, yesterday started off just gloomy with no rain predicted, then about 9:45 it started in. It rained and the wind blew, HARD! All my south facing windows were covered with rain. Temp stayed about 52º.
Rained on and off and wind was wild all day. We ended up with 1/10" of rain. More branches off trees on the ground now too.

That truck heading out is the Century Link guy, Paul.
Paul came back to see why I had a droning sound on my phone. There was a problem in "box" on the side of the house. He replaced something and all working fine! Something to do with a ground wire. Thanks Paul!

I was outside taking a picture of my mountain and the rain and Mr. and Mrs. Goose were resting atop my barn roof.... They stayed up there for a long time!

Today is a  special birthday... pal Dee Yellin (wife of the infamous Dale) is celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!!!! Miss you, been a long time!!!! ox

And also is former neighbor and friend of Kristen's, Laura (Vincent) and her Conrad are celebrating 27 years of marriage!

When I got up this morning and raised the shade there were two elk in my pasture!

I haven't seen elk here in quite a while!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Limerick Day

Limerick Day celebrates the birthday of Writer Edward Lear (1812-1888).  It also, of course, celebrates Limerick poems. Limericks were popularized by Lear in 1846 in his Book of Nonsense".
This day is a time to enjoy and get your fill of Limerick poems. We are so glad that it came along to brighten up our lives. Celebrate Limerick Day in style by writing a Limerick or two of your own. Or, sit down and read a few humorous Limericks. They are guaranteed to make you smile.
A Limerick is a humorous verse or poem. It is five lines longs. It's name come from the city of Limerick, Ireland. The first two lines rhyme with the fifth line rhyme.  The third and fourth lines rhyme.
Did you know? Limerick is the third largest city in Ireland.
Ok, here's my contributions:
This old lady that lives in Rogue River
Summer is hot but the winter makes her shiver
She loves to cook and dine
Her favorite drink is wine
Praying it won't kill her liver!
If you've been given a nickname, that's just ducky.
Some of them can be quite plucky.
My nickname is Bobo,
Glad it wasn't Bozo!
And if you go to the Derby, you want to be named Lucky!
My Darling called me Dew.
I guess it was a version of Sue.
After a trip through Milpitas, *
He started calling me Millpudas!
It could have been worse, PHEW!
*California city in Santa Clara county.
If you have been lucky to have great love,
Someone that fits you just like a glove.
You've been given a gift Heaven sent
Nothing can match such a Blessed event.
Be thankful for what was sent from above!
