Fog ~ 211 ~ Doctor Recommended ~ Jan & Dean Song ~ Sue's Lazy Day Stuffed Cabbage ~ New Red Ride ~ Peppermint Patty

Good full moon (be careful out there!!!) very foggy 33º Saturday!

Today is 2-11.
211 is a radio code in CA and a penal code section for armed robbery. A "robbery" is different from a "burglary" in that a robbery is the felonious taking of property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear.  In the bank where I worked we had a silent alarm button under the counter. So, there is 211A (audible alarm) or 211S (silent).  211JO (just occurred). 211 now.

This made me laugh, so I posted it on my FB page:

One of my most fav Jan & Dean song...

Historically this date...

1752 – Pennsylvania Hospital, the first hospital in the United States, is opened byBenjamin Franklin.

1916 – Emma Goldman is arrested for lecturing on birth control.
...........what a bunch of stupid idiots back then! OH WAIT.... still stupid idiots abound today!!!

1942 – The first gold record is presented to Glenn Miller for "Chattanooga Choo Choo".
....."is that the cat who chewed my new shoes?"

2011 – The first wave of the Egyptian revolution culminates in the resignation ofHosni Mubarak and the transfer of power to the Supreme Military Council after 18 days of protests.

And births this date include...
1847 – Thomas Alva Edison, American inventor (d. 1931)

1919 – Eva Gabor, Hungarian-born actress (d. 1995)
..... only 5 husbands, unlike her sister Za Za with 9 !

1926 – Leslie Nielsen, Canadian actor (d. 2010)
... In 'Airplane' when Nielsen was asked "Surely you can't be serious?" and he responds, "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley." LOVE IT LOVE IT!

1936 – Burt Reynolds, American actor

1964 – Sarah Palin, American politician and 9th Governor of Alaska

1969 – Jennifer Aniston, American actress

Here is another favorite recipe of mine. Cabbage rolls are so good but work. This is Sue's Lazy Day Stuffed Cabbage

1 head cabbage, chopped
1 cup rice, cooked. (About 2½ cups when cooked)
1 - 1½ pounds ground pork
1 large onion, chopped
2 cans tomato soup
Brown meat and onion. In a 4 qt casserole layer the cabbage, rice, meat alternately 2 or 3 times, starting and ending with cabbage.

Top with undiluted soup that has been mixed smooth in a bowl. Bake at 350º for an hour, or until hot and cabbage is soft. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Yesterday I ran errands and went to the grocery store. Exciting, eh? Then it was popcorn for dinner and Chicago Med and Blue Bloods.

I actually did do something else yesterday...

I picked up my new ride. (Thank you Lori & Joe and Jake at Roe Motors!!!!!) Maybe the tan interior will not show Dude's hair so much as the black interior did!!! And I LOVE the exterior color.... not so red you need flashing lights and a siren, just subdued. Soooooooo comfortable. Lots to learn about it though. More later.......

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

LOL Peppermint Patties are John's favorite. Our boys have been known to give him huge bags of them at Christmas time. :)

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW RIDE! I love it! Love the color and the interior too! What made you decide to turn in your black one? Wish they hadn't discontinued making the Town Car or I would have a new one too. Just don't like the new Lincoln's because they shrunk them!! If I still had young kids I would get a Navigator.

I read about that Emma Goldman. What a sour puss. I see she later teamed up with that terrible founder of Planned Parenthood, Sanger! It was wonderful that they taught birth control BUT then when it got into abortion that was a different story!!

Hugs, XOXO Trisha

Great ride! Our interior carpeting and furniture "coordinate" with our dogs- thanks for tip for when we go car shopping.

That casserole looks tasty.
