Inauguration Day ~ Sun ~ Dude & Bruiser ~ White House Value ~ Popcorn w/ Cheese

Good 36º raining Inauguration Day!!! YIPPPEEEEE.
Looking forward to watching it. My pal Trish and her son Daryl will be there.

Yesterday some sun!

Dude and the Bruise were happy campers...

This is interesting, the estimated value of the White House...

You can go to www.zillo.com and get an estimate on your property or other properties. Really interesting.

Yesterday, since it was National Popcorn Day and today is Cheese Lover's Day I had a treat... popcorn and cheese!!! Oh and a little butter also!!!

Historically this date...

1981 – Twenty minutes after Ronald Reagan is inaugurated, at age 69 the oldest man ever to be inaugurated as U.S. President, Iran releases 52 American hostages.
Iran knew they'd deal with a tough President, not like the wuss who is FINALLY gone and who, more than any other President, released terrorists and felons and traitors!!!!

And births this date include....
1896 – George Burns, American actor, comedian (d. 1996)

1920 – DeForest Kelley, American actor (d. 1999)
In the second picture, he looks like a tired Dr. Oz!

Yesterday afternoon Dude and I took a drive into town... post office, prescriptions, and ATM for deposit. Such excitement! The weather was decent for a change... no rain, no snow, some sun. But, more rain is here!

Dinner was more of that Pulled Pork Soup. It's one of the best I ever made!!!!

National Cheese Lover's Day

Use today to savor and enjoy any of the hundreds of varieties of cheese. There certainly is no shortage of varieties. Depending upon what article you read, there is between 900 - 1,400 varieties of cheese, all classified by texture.
It's easy to celebrate this special day. Set out a tray of several varieties of  your favorite cheese and dig in. Having a cheese tasting party with your friends, will make this day a truly memorable one.  And, don't forget the wine. Cheese goes great with cheese.
Some Cheesy Trivia:
Cheese is more flavorful at room temperature.
Americans consume over 31 pounds of cheese per year. But, that's nothing. But that's nothing compared to the French, who eat over 50 pounds of cheese per year.
Historical records vary, as to when cheese was first made. It was somewhere between 7,500 and 8,000 B.C. Records suggest it may have first been discovered, by accident, in Poland or Arabia.
The world's largest cheese was put on display on this day in 1964 at the New York World's Fair. It weighed over 34,000 pounds.
Eating cheese makes you feel gouda. So, don't be bleu. Eat some cheese on National Cheese Lover Day.
