Rain ~ NFL Schedule ~ New Computer ~ Dave Perry ~ Dee and Dale Yellin ~ Steak & Quinoa w/ Vegetables ~ Peanut Butter Fudge

Good 45º raining morning.

Here is the NFL schedule for today and Monday night:

Yesterday, for most of the day, I worked on this new computer. It's apparently not happy with some of my apps. Struggling. Also, my DSL is slower than molasses in winter! Need to chat with the phone company and get that upgraded.

Today is a special friend's birthday, Dave Perry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!! I hope you have a super day. You and Nancy and I NEED to go out and have a little celebration!!!!!

Today is also the 25th wedding anniversary of two special friends.. Dee and Dale Yellin. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS!!! (Couldn't find a picture of the two of you together!) (Dale is SEB Motors SR ret)

Historically this date..
1820 – An 80-ton sperm whale attacks the Essex (a whaling ship from Nantucket, Massachusetts) 2,000 miles from the western coast of South America (Herman Melville's 1851 novel Moby-Dick is in part inspired by this story).

(Click on the word "Essex" and read a fascinating story of the ship sinking and the survival of a few crew)

1974 – The United States Department of Justice files its final anti-trust suit against AT&T. This suit later leads to the breakup of AT&T and its Bell System.
... the sad end of Ma Bell and excellent customer service and polite telephone operators!!!

1992 – In Englanda fire breaks out in Windsor Castle, badly damaging the castle and causing over £50 million worth of damage.

1993 – Savings and loan crisis: The United States Senate Ethics Committee issues a stern censure of California senator Alan Cranston for his "dealings" with savings-and-loan executive Charles Keating.

And births this date include...
1925 – Robert F. Kennedy, American politician (d. 1968)

1939 – Dick Smothers, American comedian

1942 – Joe Biden, 47th Vice President of the United States

1945 – Rick Monday, American baseball player

1956 – Bo Derek, American actress

Later dinner was an Omaha Filet Mignon cooked in the Air Fryer (370º 14 minutes, turn over and an additional 3 minutes).... some quinoa, cooked in my rice cooker and then put in a big pan on the stove and all the veggies (steamed broccoli, green beans, celery) and cut up artichoke bottoms and olives...drizzled with olive oil, spices added, and heated.

Perfect! Even saved a couple bites of the steak for Dude!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao

Put the milk and sugar in a pan and bring to boil. Boil 2 ½ minutes. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until mixed. Pour into greased pan. Cool. Cut.

Oh my, one of my favorites, peanut butter fudge! My mother would bake like crazy this time of year and make that for me.

Your dinner looked amazing!

That photo of your mountain with the fog looks like a painting! You should have it printed and blown up and framed. Wow!

Well, no fudge for me! I was getting ready to go to the Gala last night when I put on a beautiful red evening suit I've had for a long time. It was too tight so I had to change! :( That right there was a signal that I have to go on some kind of diet! I sit at this computer too much and don't get enough exercise! :(
I think it's called the middle age spread but I am past middle age! :(
