Bear Likes Pears ~ Turkeys ~ Berta Sommer Long ~ Veal Cutlet & Yam Fries ~ Sunset ~ NFL

Good 42º super foggy again morning.
Yesterday I went out back and found my pear tree had been hacked! Apparently there is a bear in the area who likes pears! He broke several of the branches and those on the ground were cleaned of any pears!

Meanwhile, the turkeys were hanging out..
These are the mommas and their babies born this past spring.

Special birthday today, my pal Berta. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLFRIEND! I hope you have a SPECIAL day!!!
Here with her beautiful daughter Michele. My friendship with Berta goes back to 1965.
Historically this date..
2008 – Barack Obama becomes the first African-American to be elected President of the United States.
...........................Don't get me started on that arrogant self-serving lying piece of garbage.

And births this date include....
1879 – Will Rogers, American humorist (d. 1935)

1913 – Gig Young, American actor (d. 1978)

1916 – Walter Cronkite, American news broadcaster (d. 2009)

1916 – Ruth Handler, American businesswoman and inventor of the Barbie doll (d. 2002)

1937 – Loretta Swit, American actress
I miss your sweetness, style, and sincerity ...and CLASS! Something that has been missing since you and "Bushie" left the White House!

1961 – Ralph Macchio, American actor

1969 – Matthew McConaughey, American actor
Later made a run into town for errands.
Dinner was some Air Fryer yam fries and a breaded veal cutlet. I peeled the yam and cut into small pieces, sloshed it with olive oil and garlic salt and cooked at 350º for about 17 minutes, tossing them half way through.

They came out crunchy on the outside and soft and yum on the inside.

I also cooked the veal cutlet with a little olive oil and bacon salt...

The sunset last night was amazing...

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

My goodness! Are you sure there wasn't a fire on the other side of your mountain? Beautiful! I'll bet the TV station would show one of those pics.

I had to chuckle at all your turkeys. Could be they know Thanksgiving is approaching and they know it's safe at the Maxwell spread! :)

Oh go on.....get started on Obama! :)

LOL, T... no fire. Sent to TV station but I would imagine they will get bunches of photos from this area. In the beginning when I was first sending photos, they didn't have that many, now they get tons of them. I'm sure the turkeys feel safe here. They even talk to me!!! xoxo

Your sunsets are breathtaking! Ours fire-up closer to the Rose Bowl.

Being surrounded closely by the mountains makes a difference. In Temple City we'd see the sunsets over Mt. Wilson. ox
