Good 53º cloudy morning.
Yesterday the sun was out and it warmed to 74º!
10-7 in poleeece radio code is "out of service"....

This photo is fantastic... taken in Grants Pass by Steve Arnold, retired locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railroad and now an awesome photographer ... a squirrel attacking! I love it!!

Out back yesterday were the mommas and their baby turkeys, which have grown a lot!

.... and a little later it was all the Tom turkeys and a young deer...

Yesterday I met up with Karen and two of her pals, Elaine and Patty at Pongsir's Thai Restaurant in Grants Pass for lunch.

This little "house" is the restaurant.. 232 NE E. Street.
Lovely and clean inside...

Patty, me, Karen, and Elaine...

There is this fish tank... OMG such interesting critters...

This is Pam, the owner. She is just lovely!

I had the "Vegetable Deluxe, stir-fried mixed veggies, with chicken and garlic, and served with rice. OMGOOOOOD!
The 3 three girls split 3 of their fav entrees... and I tasted the "Orange Chicken" and will get that next time. SOOOOO GOOD!!!! Here is the menu! I will be going back again and again!!!!
Thanks Pam!

After that I ran errands, Brian's office, stopped at the US Cellular store and got a problem fixed with my cell phone (sheeeesh, something simple but too hard for my tiny brain!), post office, pharmacy, bank....... home!

At the post office I picked up a package sent to me from pal, Sandy (Todoran)... she found this tin of chocolate and "thought of me"...

I was telling pal Linda about this and she suggested I try some in my coffee!! Hmmmm... might be good. We'll see. THANK YOU SANDY!!!!!

National Frappé Day

Frappé coffee (also known as café frappeé or Greek frappé) originates in Greece though the word frappé is French. When describing a drink, this word means “chilled”. Frappé is an iced coffee drink which is made from instant coffee and covered with foam.
Frappé was invented in 1957 in Thessaloniki during the International Trade Fair by an employee of the Nestlé company. He wanted to have an instant coffee during his break but couldn't find any hot water. So he used a shaker to mix instant coffee with cold water and ice cubes. This improvised drink turned out to be a success. It is one of the most popular drinks in modern Greece.
Greek frappé is typically made with spray-dried instant coffee, sugar, and water. Sometimes milk is added. The beverage can be flavored with liqueurs such as Baileys Irish Cream or Kahlúa. Outside Greece, the espresso version of frappé is popular. In the United States, the term “frappe” can be applied to various iced coffee beverages, either chilled or frozen. Starbucks has its own trademark for a line of frozen coffee drinks – Frappucino.
To celebrate the National Frappé Day, have a nice cup of iced coffee. You can top it with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, or a ball of ice-cream.

Good morning.

Happy birthday Judy! That picture always makes me smile.

Thank you for sharing the visit to the charming restaurant. Orange Chicken is a favorite eating-out dish. Trader Joe's frozen section has a really good version.

Interesting history of frappe. On our bookstore dates, we usually order.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY! I did send her an e card and posted on her FB page.

Yes, Trader Joe's orange chicken is yummy. At our fave Chinese take-out place they call it "tangerine chicken". Oh so good. Love American version Chinese food but I have had so many authentic Chinese dinners and not so good. :( That place is adorable.

June Allison and Dick Powell were the God parents of a Parnell sister of mine. I met them when they attended some happening at the school. She was so teeny.
