Pistachio Muffin ~ Clouds/Rain ~ Dude & Hunter Bruiser ~ Infused Olive Oil ~ You Don't Know Abe ~ Back-Up Sensor ~ Julie Moran ~ Shirts ~ Lobster

Good 42º cloudy morning.

Breakfast was two eggs with bacon salt and one of the pistachio muffins. I squirted some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter on the muffin. OMGOOOOD!!!

Yesterday morning the sun peeked through the clouds onto my mountain...
Then about 9am it started raining up there.....
About 10am it rained here! Dang, but for only about 10 minutes. And by 1:30 it was beautiful again..

Dude was happy on the porch... observing...

While Mr. Crazy, Bruiser, was out in the pasture hunting!

He caught something! Running with it past a couple turkeys...

And up the road he comes. UGH. I don't know what it was, and happily he didn't bring it to the porch!

I infused some olive oil with Harmony House dried sliced garlic, chopped onion, and jalapeño slices.

I store it in used wine bottles and put a pour spout on the one I am using.

Each bottle holds about 3 cups, so heated 9 ½ cups of olive oil to 179º. Turned off the heat and added about ¾ cup of each of the dried veggies, stirred, and let sit til completely cool. I used to use the dried red pepper flakes, but like the flavor of the jalapeño better.
Once cool it all gets strained through a coffee filter and then poured into the bottles. Such a great taste... a little oniony and garlicy and then a tiny bite of the jalapeño. Mmmmm...

So, I said to him, "Barack I know Abe Lincoln, AND you ain't Abe Lincoln..."
Ovamit has made numerous attempts to quote Lincoln, SO WHY DOESN'T HE USE THIS FAMOUS LINCOLN QUOTE:
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they could or should do for themselves.
Abraham Lincoln

Most new cars have a back-up sensor. This warns the driver before the rear bumper actually comes in contact with something. You may not know this, but the back up sensor on vehicles was not invented by scientists or engineers, this back up sensor was invented by a Chinese farmer! His invention is simple and effective. It emits a high-pitched squeal when the vehicle backs into something. (thanks John Anderson-LASD ret. - for this!)

June 15th
National Lobster Day
The easiest way to cook a lobster, as taught to me by my nephew Jimmy...

pull the meat out of the shell by making a cut down the entire length of the shell on top.https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlfmFFWR5DpZU86FiBA9r4Z85uofGHLEbzxh2sT1Rvzgpb-8MGdl5Sy7wB1CPJRXz1RyC4Nsk-XVwoTiJAh16XgL6oX4KuTrPfr4LCbavFINUGuPHwXbBWXTogPyLmp1nk_PxZHSqnplan/s1600/IMG_6652MA29801014-0019.JPG

Put the meat on top of the shell, brush with clarified butter and sprinkle with paprika.

Good morning.

Do you think pistachio muffins would work with blueberries mixed in?

I have cayenne in the garden- maybe I'll try roasting the peppers with garlic in olive oil.

Glad you wore Wine Party spelled correctly. So much better than the bi-partisan whine party.

Lincoln was a great communicator, Open door. An inquisitive mind geared towards results. Strength without rancor or malice. I think he would be very angry today to see our beloved US divided in countless ways. By wealth, religion, education, party affiliation.

Blessings to you

Thanks L!! Yes, blueberries are good in ANYTHING! xo

Your pics of your mountain are always gorgeous! No wonder that TV station posts them so often.

You wine shirts are great! I LOL at the "A salt" one. So cute!

I think Obama has some nerve quoting Lincoln. He is so opposite!

Yes, there is much turmoil in this country/world right now but as I remember the unrest of the 60's, it was horrible then.

Hopefully things will be better after January 2017!!

Great t-shirts! I'very been buying the infused oils at my local olive mill... think I'll try your method soon!
My heart goes out to you for your anniversary date. Know the pain. I usually go to dinner at our favorite restaurant.
Hugs, GS

Thanks L & GS! We can pray about January, but don't count on a good outcome.

I know you understand GS. Glad more of my friends don't! It's hard. xoxoxo

Love the Lincoln quote. Not thrilled with the Candidates for president.
I want to try those muffins!

Sure wish we had more Lincolns, O! I'm not thrilled either, but we have no choice at this point! Yes, do make the muffins. You can also make them with white cake mix, like Duncan Hines, and add a box of pistachio instant pudding to the mix. xo
