Fiber Rich Foods ~ Sayings ~ My Road ~ Young Doe ~ Chicken Pastry

Good 45º clear sunny morning.

Breakfast yesterday was reruns of the egg muffins and fruit...

Ok, here's the last of the fiber rich foods you should eat more of....

11. Blackberries

They have 8 g of fiber in a single cup and so delicious!

12. Navy Beans

Just one cup has 19g of fiber! That is almost an entire day's worth of pooping fuel. You can prep a bunch and add to salads or cook them into a hearty soup.

13. Chickpeas

A cup of cooked chickpeas has 12.5g of fiber. This is a great snack!
Oven roasted crispy chickpeas...

14. Broccoli

A medium stalk has 6g of fiber or 5g per cup.

15. Lentils

A cup of cooked lentils has 15.6g of fiber. Toss them in salads, soups, pasta, or pretty  much anything.

16. Pears

A medium-size pear has 5.5g of fiber. Eat them raw, or cook them and throw them in oatmeal or desserts.

A couple more sayings you might not have known the origin of (again, thanks Derry Benedict)

HOT OFF THE PRESS - As the paper goes through the rotary printing press friction causes it to heat up.  Therefore, if you grab the paper right off the press it’s hot. The expression means to get immediate information.
OVER A BARREL - In the days before CPR a drowning victim would be placed face down over a barrel and the barrel would be rolled back and forth in an effort to empty the lungs of water. It was rarely effective. If you are over a barrel you are in deep trouble.

Made a quick trip into town yesterday for errands. Took Dude, as I was not stopping anywhere long. ATM, drive up window for prescription, and a stop at Brian's office. Dude was a very happy camper to get to take a ride.

BTW, for those of you who have never been here, this is what my driveway looks from the road to my house...

Around 2pm Dude wanted to go out. I looked and a little doe was in the yard. She was munching grass. The same one from the day before. I took these through the kitchen window.. She laid down in the shade so Dude stayed in! He did get to go out back where he wouldn't scare her.

Later she got up and enjoyed some grape leaves in the side yard...

Dinner was an Omaha Steaks Chicken Pastry (keep frozen, bake at 425º 45 min) with couscous rerun and tomato.....
Really good and so easy!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Hump Day. Ciao.

Onion rings. Haven't made those in quite some time. Much lighter homemade.

I look at your driveway and understand your position on gun control. I sure wish more people could think outside their box.

I love the deer. I suspect it is like other critters, though. Far more charming in someone else's property, rather than dining on my roses.

I have a sign, L, on the front porch that says "Welcome to the Boondocks" !

I don't mind if the deer eat the leaves. They are such sweet and gentle creatures! xo

I LOVE my Omaha chicken pastries! Have you tried the chicken cordon blue? YUM but dad, not so much.

Such a precious deer. You do live in the wilderness. Yes, one definitely needs protection!
The Dems in the House are today having a sit in because they didn't get their way two days ago and get more gun control laws passed! My question is this: why is it that all the most violent cities are run by Dems and have the strictest gun control laws in the nation! Simple answer: It's the criminals who have the guns because the law abiding citizens aren't allowed any! :( Idiots!!
I say the speaker should turn off the lights and go home and let them sit there all night in the dark like spoiled children!
There! That's my rant for the day! :)

Tell me, is that tapioca pudding with chia seeds? If not, what's the difference?

XO Trisha

Thanks T, I will have to try the chicken cordon blue!

As for the Dem sit in. STUPID!! I agree with your rant!!!

No, the recipe is there on the link, scroll down to "breakfast" , it's just chia seeds with almond milk, set in fridge overnight and it's done.
