Good very foggy 37º morning.  Sun predicted for today. I hope! Yesterday was just gloomy all day...

Received this from George Bachmeier (LASD ret).. seen it before but still makes me laugh! Rain in Los Angeles! Earthquakes, eh.... , but rain? Scary!

Another idea for a football watching snack:

(15-ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup grated carrot
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

Place beans in a food processor, and pulse until almost smooth. Combine the beans, carrot, and the remaining ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring until well blended. Let stand 30 minutes. Serve at room temperature with baked tortilla chips.

Great guy! My Congressman.

So, here's Bruiser atop my computer and NAPPING! Asleep sitting up!

I received this video from Ike Saben (LASD ret).. about a rescue dog from Texas who helped at Ground Zero on 9-11. OMGOSH..... this is so neat. Keep the Kleenex handy for tears of joy!

Later I unwrapped the new doormat I got Friday. What a great greeting for the front door!!!!

Dinner last night.... broccoli, snap peas, carrots, spinach ... a little water in the bottom of the pan and olive oil drizzled over, lid on, steamed for a bit...

Then I added in the "fake crab" (you could use leftover chicken, turkey, steak, roast, etc.... I like this fake crab!) and heated it with a jar of the 3 Cheese sauce....

OMGOOOOOOOD!!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

The La Conchita slide.. there is a micro-climate there perfect for bananas. But the land isn't stable. We'll probably see more of where the land isn't suitable- or construction questionable- with this season's rain. Around the corner, a retaining wall failed.

Bruiser can sleep sitting up- just so he isn't behind the wheel. If computers can drive cars- why not cats?

Really L, a retaining wall? That is scary. I think Bruiser learned sleeping survival when he was feral. xo
