Rain/Snow ~ Bonnie & Bill in Africa ~ Mr. Bich ~ Mother's Killer Biscuits ~ Patriots YES! ~ Yams & Cod

Good 39º drizzling morning. Snow predicted for today as low as 2000'. I'm at 1200'. The I-5 in Ashland is quite foggy with snow on the sides of the road..

And the Siskiyou Summit is quite busy with snow!

Yesterday stayed gloomy and foggy and COLD most of the day! By noon we had only warmed to 41º.  Then at 12:30 the sun came out! YEAH! And we warmed to 51º. Dude was happy to go out and lay in the sun, until an idiot with a gun kept firing rapidly round after round. Dude gets very nervous. Finally the jerk quit the rapid firing and Dude was happy to go back outside.

Here's friends Miss Bonnie and her hubby Bill on their latest trip... to Africa. They had quite a trip and took lots of photos of the animals...

Historically this date....
1859 – Charles Darwin publishes On the Origin of Species, the anniversary of which is sometimes called "Evolution Day"

1950 – The "Storm of the Century", a violent snowstorm, paralyzes the northeastern United States and the Appalachians, bringing winds up to 100 mph and sub-zero temperatures. Pickens, West Virginia, records 57 inches of snow. 323 people die as a result of the storm.

1971 – During a severe thunderstorm over Washington state, a hijacker calling himself Dan Cooper (AKA D. B. Cooper) parachutes from a Northwest Orient Airlines plane with $200,000 in ransom money. He has never been found.

1974 – Donald Johanson and Tom Gray discover the 40% complete Australopithecus afarensis skeleton, nicknamed "Lucy" (after The Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"), in the Awash Valley of Ethiopia's Afar Depression. (This person lived between 3.9 and 2.9 million years ago! OMG)

Now this is just too funny.. Mr. Phuc Dat Bich has had his Facebook account closed several times.... Hmmm... wonder why?

When you have AOL and sign on, the sign on screen changes... there have to be a dozen different ones, but they have my Bruiser on one!

How about this for your Thanksgiving dinner...
"Mother's Killer Biscuits"...  These biscuits are really awesome. Been making them for over 40 years. A family holiday staple. You need 2 packages of Grands biscuits, 1 cube butter, a bundt pan. Arrange biscuits in a circle in the pan on their side. Melt butter in microwave (30 seconds) and pour over the biscuits. Bake at 350º for approx 30-37 minutes (depending on you oven and altitude... mine took 37) until dark golden brown on top. Put on rack to cool. After about 10 minutes turn out onto a plate.

You make these, and you will thank me!

You know I have never done it but often thought about making these for breakfast and adding cinnamon in the melted butter... or sticking mozzarella cheese in between the biscuits.... or..... Imagination is a good thing!

Later it was my Patriots vs the Butt-ta-low Bills.

My Tommy Brady and his pooch on Sunday ...

So I was thoroughly enjoying the game.... The best thing the Jets did was get rid of that creep dog killer Michael Vick and the creep coach Rex Ryan. Now Ryan is coach of the Bills. And can you imagine, the Bills have the highest amount of field penalties of any other team! Geeeesh.....  Glad that was over. My Pats are now 10-0.

Dinner was yams and a ling cod fillet...
First I put the halved yams in some water in the crock pot casserole for 3 hours.

I coated the cod with some lemon infused olive oil (my homemade) and a mixture of Panko, parsley, spicy Mrs. Dash, and some crystallized  lemon ...
.... sauteéd in more lemon infused olive oil...

Perfect! I sprayed I Can't Believe It's Not Butter on the yams. Love them!

All I know. Happy Tuesday. Nuff said. Ciao.
