Low Temps ~ Sunday Football ~ Micol Klamm ~ Coyote ~ Kristen Alex & Jack ~ Thanksgiving ~ Lemon Cream Pie

Good 17º clear morning.
For the past few days it has dropped in temperature in the morning down to 19º. Now today it's lower! Yesterday morning Kristen and Alex and Jack left, heading back to So. Cal. Hated to see them go!!! Texted with Alex about 9:30 am and she said they were in Weed and it was still 19º. Had warmed to 29º here by then. By 1:30 we were at 59º. Heat wave!!! They got home safe and sound. Yes!!!
Sunday football:

Today is a special friend's birthday... Micol Klamm. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICOL!!!

Yesterday for some reason I was feeling puney. Just didn't want to do anything. Did manage to get a load of laundry done, dishes done, and a fire in the wood stove. Soup for dinner.

Historically this date....
1877 – Thomas Edison demonstrates his phonograph for the first time.
1929 – U.S. Admiral Richard Byrd becomes the first person to fly over the South Pole.
1990 – Gulf War: The United Nations Security Council passes two resolutions to restore international peace and security if Iraq did not withdraw its forces from Kuwait and free all foreign hostages by January 15, 1991.
And births this date include...
1896 – Yakima Canutt, American actor and stuntman (d. 1986)
Interesting how he got his name, it sounds American Indian, not.
1927 – Vin Scully, American baseball announcer
1955 – Howie Mandel, Canadian comedian
Here are a couple pictures from Thanksgiving. More to come...
Leaving for Jean's on Thanksgiving afternoon and Mr. Coyote was watching me down by the gate:

Then the BIG surprise when Kristen, Alex, and Jack walked into Jean's house! Here they are at a rest stop on the way up from LA:

Jen carving Mr. Tom:

Jean making gravy:

Marie cutting up a pineapple with Sandy looking on:

Dinner was awesome! We had a great dinner with 19 of us!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Football Sunday. Ciao.

National Lemon Cream Pie Day

A plain pastry or crumb pastry shell with a pudding filling (butterscotch, chocolate, frangipane and vanilla are most common). Try a banana cream piecoconut cream pieor a strawberry or raspberry cream pie.
What’s the difference between cream and creme? Just the spelling. Creme is an Americanization of the French word for cream, crème (pronounced KREHM), most likely adapted to make the dish sound more special. But why mispronounce another language’s word for cream? Unless it’s a French recipe, such as Coeur à la Crème, stick to cream.
