Dodgers/Angels Game ~ Jack Fimple ~ Ed Chenal ~ Greg Walden ~ Bruiser ~ Dude ~ Just Desserts ~ Date Nut Cake

Good 45º clear and sunny morning.

Good grief, I slept like a rock and woke at 7:30!!! I only woke up because Bruiser was up and tromping around on the bed! Get up mom!! Get up mom!!

Yesterday it slowly warmed up. By 2:15 it was 87º. Turned the AC on. Ahhhhhh...... by 4:30 we topped out at 89º.

PICTURE OF THE DAY:
Buses at the ready, school starts today...
School already started for my grandchildren in California... wonder why they start so early, it was last month! After Labor Day was always the norm...

Love this... thanks Mike Cipolla!
"Don't move or the dog gets it!"

Last night was the Dodger vs Angels game. Look Brian, State Farm on camera view all the time!

A new friend up here, who was a Dodger catcher from 1983-1987, Jack Fimple, and then played for the Angels 1987-1989. He is funny. He calls me and says, "This is your favorite Dodger!" Oh man, I low da Daa-yers! We don't talk that often, only chats are because of All Natural Pest Control where he now works. Found this about Jack on a blog written totally about the Dodgers..
Dodger Catcher Jack Fimple 1983
"No Dodger team has started so good since the Division Winning 1983 ball club of Jack Fimple fame. Fimple? Yeah, a AAA catcher called up due to injury to both Scioscia and Yeager who had a few heroic moments during his short major league run."

Jack has a beautiful wife and gorgeous children! Lucky man, and he gets to live in OREGON! AND he did give me  autographed baseball cards!!!

Sooooooooooooooooooooo.......... last the Dodgers played the Angels. Both of Jack's teams. Must have been hard to be loyal to either one!  Interesting that Mike Scioscia is now the Mgr for the Angels!  Anyway, Dodgers won 7-5. It was a 3 hour 52 minute game! I had FB messaged Jack's wife, Gillian, and they were watching the game too. They had met when he was an Angel. (Hmmmm.... really? An "angel". LOL I guess, Gillian, that means he isn't an angel any more?)

LOL:

Today is a special birthday of a special friend, Ed Chenal (LASD ret).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!!!!!

Yesterday I tried to re-group and get some thank you's done from my birthday. I am so s-l-o-w~! Anyway, several taken care of and more to go. I did get a nice note from our Congressman Greg Walden. He signed it and even wrote "Happy 70th". Whattta guy. Here we are last year at the Ronald Reagan BBQ. Greg is a real hero for the people. Fights hard for changes and things that need to be fixed and getting government out of state's affairs and for our military!

Dinner last night was leftover shrimp/veggie casserole I found in the freezer, and more corn!

While I was fixing dinner, Bruiser was prone in the grass..

? He was either stalking or napping!

And Dude was just enjoying the evening without the cat bothering him while I watched the game and he listened  ...

After the Dodger/Angel game I watched a Hallmark movie... "Just Desserts".

Cute movie. Only person in it I didn't like was Brenda Vaccaro and her HORRIBLE NY accent!
"A tweaked version of the classic New York accent. It is adapted from one of the five boroughs of New York, Brooklyn. It is higher pitched and nasaly. Its more laid back than a regular NY accent.
Example of a Brooklyn Accent: Instead of "park the car" it would be "pahk da cah". Or instead of "coffee shop" it would be "cahfee shahp"."
On the other hand Costas Mandylor was the love interest with Lauren Holly. Interesting, he from Australia and had a really believable Italian accent in this film!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

I am soooo with you about the Pledge! If "they" don't like it let them leave and go to another country but don't change our traditions! GRRRRR

Also with you about schools starting here in the middle of August! Used to start after Labor Day. Now they are out in May.

Your corn always looks so amazing and yummy.

The Clintoon is funny and pitiful at the same time! God help us!!

XO Trisha
