Kristen ~ Scotch ~ Antique Pimento Spread Glasses ~ Scotland ~ "My Mountain" on TV ~ New Neighbors ~ Chat w/ Linda

Good 46º clear sunny morning.

Maxed out at 84º yesterday. Stand by for today!

Had a call from Kristen yesterday morning. She is doing well. Back to work yesterday. School starts in 3 weeks. She is the school secretary and they have to get organized for the new semester. She will be off on Fridays for the next 6 weeks for the chemo. Keep her in your prayers. xo

Yesterday I did a run into town to pick up a package at the post office, deposit a check, and pick up a prescription. Ran into Patty and Cliff at the post office. Nice! Then to the liquor store, as it was National Scotch Day and I went through all the bottles of booze I have and no Scotch! Grrr... So bought one.

The glass I used some might remember from the 50's and 60's ... a Kraft pimento cheese glass. These were filled with the cheese and a lid attached. I have a few. The cheese is still put into glasses, but they are plain. Check these out... we had some with the tulips on them too:

Later I toasted "To Scotland, to Scotch, to kilts, to bagpipes

, to kyber toss

, and to Sean Connery
.
Hail Scotland, home of my Mother's parents.
My Mother's mother was clan Dunbar...

My Mother's father's was clan Mills...

Then it was a stop at PJ and Dave's to water. Got the pots filled and turned on the timer for the soakers and sprinklers.

Earlier I had taken a picture of "my mountain" (Fielder Mountain) with some cumulus clouds. I sent it to our So Oregon/No California TV station, KOBI, to the weather guy, Adam Kolpack.  On the 6pm news he used my photo. I was SO EXCITED!!!!
This is the picture...

I copied the weather broadcast and put it on youtube:
It was on again for the 11 o'clock news and Adam said the name of Fielder Mountain.

Later I went back to PJ and Dave's to turn off the timers and water. Dude went with me. Noticed a truck and some moving going on at the vacant rental down by the road. Stopped in and met Tenicia, Matt, their daughter Caitlan, their son, and Tenicia's dad Robert. Daughter is 9, their son, can't remember his name, is 6. Robert has a tree trimming business here locally. Nice folks. All locals, but Tenicia Matt and the kids had just moved back from Northridge CA.

Phone chat with Linda, Patty and Cliff's daughter-in-law. She had back surgery last week, but is recovering well. Same thing I had but I had only two vertebra fused and rodded and screwed... she had three.

Jennifer went to the eye doctor yesterday and had some shots in her eyes!!! YIKES. Will talk to her today to see how she is doing. Talked to Mike and he said she was resting.

Dinner was corn on the cob, some resurrected (thawed) chicken tenders I sauteéd ...
Sauce for my corn:

OMGOOOOOOD!!!
Then it was chair, wine, and another Hallmark movie! Oh, and the news of course, that made me famous with my photo of the mountain!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Congrats on being on the weather news cast! Cool that they put your name up on the screen.

I used to drink a scotch and water tall with a twist of lemon. That was back in my night clubbing days. It would last a good long time. :)

No wonder Jackie O smoked three packs a day married to that man! He was as bad as Clinton where the women were concerned!

So happy to hear that Kristen is doing well and getting back to work. Still keeping her in my prayers.

I remember those cute pimento glasses well. Cute.

XO Trisha

CONGRATULATIONS, you published photographer. Well deserved.

Good to hear your daughter is up to work return. I remember being stunned when a nurse of ours- she has chemo every week- starting about 10 years before we met her in the office. Fully functional and happy for God's grace courtesy of her medical team.

You do smoking is for some not an issue. Gerry's maternal grandfather smoked every day until he died at 94. It is a very different story in on my father's side- so very nice the younger generation noticed- and mostly quit.

Thank you ladies re Kristen! And re my photo! I am limited as to the photograph area. Lots of people send in their photos of sunsets at the coast or wild storms. Just probably with our benign weather no other photos were submitted.

Yes, true some people aren't affected by smoking, but to top it all of, it STINKS! Laws in place now, "no smoking within 10 feet of a business's door". xo

So happy to read that Kristen is back at work! What a woman!
Kraft pimento cheese glass Ah, yes I have some of those. Mine are the plain, though they have designs etched/stamped into them. Too bad they don't make them like the ones you have anymore. They do come in handy at times.
Very nice of you to share your picture with the TV audience :) They do that here too. It's fun to see someone's view of things during the weather broadcast.
Yes, let's all celebrate milk chocolate day by devouring a whole bar instead of only 3 little pieces - yes !! :)
Have a great day.
Hugs, Erika
