Good 43º morning. Was in the high 80ºs yesterday.
Better.
Today is my special friend's birthday. Jeannie. We celebrated
yesterday at the Twisted Cork http://www.thetwistedcorkgrantspass.com/
with the SOW Sistas. (Southern Oregon
Winos).... I got there early and put out the decorations..
Then went shopping next door at the Lamplight, corner of 6th
and G Streets.
My friend, GloW has her jewelry in the store ... Some really pretty things.
I bought a ring she made, red white and blue!
Had a nice chat with one of the new owners of the shop, Jan. She's from San
Diego. Really nice! LOL, apparently the other owner is also a Jan. Can't forget
their names!!!
The girls arrived at Twisted Cork and we all enjoyed some wine, except
Nancy who had a beer with a citrus taste. REALLY good!
Candy, Donna, Nancy, me, Dee, Jeannie, and Jennifer.
Jeannie had this flatbread that was reallllly good...
And I had the warm brie with strawberries and balsamic...
A sorbet with candle was brought out for the birthday girl...
The wine was good, mine was Chehalem Inox Chardonnay. From the Willamette
Valley in Oregon. Good!
Winemaker's Notes: Brilliant white-gold clarity of color, freshness and fruit running the length of the wine, aromas accented with shortbread, vanilla nougat, orange blossom and white pepper. The palate is as complementary as the nose, showing juicy, lingering acid, Asian pear, lemon curd, white peach, and green tea. Ripe, refreshing, and totally thirst-quenching.

September 10th
(The above was like my mom's White Sewing Machine. LOL, Jeannie... same as your maiden name!!!)
Sewing
Machine Day celebrates a very
important invention ----- the sewing machine. The first sewing machines were
made in France in the 1830s. It wasn't until 1846, that they were patented in
the U.S. What a great invention. Prior to it's creation, clothes items were sewn
together by hand...stitch by stitch.
People
who know how to use a sewing machine are dwindling in number. Our mothers and
grandmothers had a sewing machine in the house. They used it, too. But, look
around your house. Do you have a sewing machine? Chance are, the answers is
no.
If
you have a sewing machine, enjoy today making things with it. If not, consider
picking up sewing as a hobby.
Today's
Thought Provoking Saying:
"A
stitch in time saves nine."
...Saves
nine "what"?

(Jeannie shares the same bday as our State Senator Bob Huff)
Thanks for posting Glo's jewelry display. Just beautiful! What a great looking display it is too. Especially love all her r/w/b items! A few years ago she made Edda and me a r/w/b jeweled lanyard for our CRP Convention badge. Love love it! Now I notice the vendors are selling glitzy ones too.
XO Trisha

Thank you, Sue, for the "promo" notes and photos. My REAL work will soon be available on my new website for all to see. The birthday event looked great, quite a big group and I know Jeannie loved it. GloW
