Funny ~ Salmon ~ Another Funny ~ Cindy ~ Old vs New Ride ~ Mac-n-Cheese Bowls

Good 25º Spring? Ha! morning.

Marriage is a relationship in which one person is always right, and the other is a husband. <g>

Made a quick run to the market yesterday for the Friday Deal... fresh Chinook Salmon on sale. Got a couple good size pieces. LOVE fresh salmon! Found long toothpicks, not as long as Nancy has been looking for, but longer than normal (for olives in their martinis!) so dropped those off. Got some daisy's and tulips for Cindy for her birthday and dropped those off.

Here's a hint to clean stuck on food in a frying pan.. add vinegar. Heat the pan, scrub off the stuck on bits with a wooden spoon and it will clean up nicely and won't damage the pan. You can also add a couple teaspoons of baking soda.

PICTURE of the day....

Today is a special birthday... my dear neighbor Cindy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!!!! I am so lucky to have such GREAT neighbors!

Historically this date...
1621 – The Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony sign a peace treaty with Massasoit of theWampanoags.

1622 – Jamestown massacreAlgonquian Indians kill 347 English settlers aroundJamestown, Virginia, a third of the colony's population.

1630 – The Massachusetts Bay Colony outlaws the possession of cards, dice, and gaming tables.

1638 – Anne Hutchinson is expelled from Massachusetts Bay Colony for religious dissent.
..............I have to say, thank goodness I didn't live during that time with all the turmoil that went on.....

1943 – World War II: the entire population of Khatyn in Belarus is burnt alive byGerman occupation forces.
...........sickening. Too bad Hitler didn't live so he could be tortured and burned and stabbed and kicked and..........

1984 – Teachers at the McMartin preschool in Manhattan Beach, California are charged with satanic ritual abuse of the children in the school. The charges are later dropped as completely unfounded.
.....makes you wonder WHAT really went on....

1997 – Tara Lipinski, age 14 years and 10 months, becomes the youngest champion women's World Figure Skating Champion.

2006 – Three Christian Peacemaker Team hostages are freed by British forces inBaghdad after 118 days of captivity and the murder of their colleague, American Tom Fox.
.... a good person who tried to help and was killed for his efforts.

And births this date include....
1908 – Louis L'Amour, American author (d. 1988)
Jerry loved his books. Read all of them!

1912 – Karl Malden, American actor (d. 2009)

1923 – Marcel Marceau, French mime artist (d. 2007)
...there you go Brian... a clown and a mime all in one ... two of your favorites!

1931 – William Shatner, Canadian actor

1976 – Reese Witherspoon, American actress and film producer

Ok, here's the new ride. I traded in my 2009 (used when I bought it in 2010) for a 2014. The amount they gave me for the '09 paid off the car loan, put the down on this one to lease for 3 years, and gave me a fat check! Brian brokered the deal. After he having worked for Roger Penske in So.Cal and a couple car dealerships up here before opening his State Farm office, he knows cars! I am pleased. As you can see, this one has more shiny on it..the wheels! And of course Bruiser has to check out every single vehicle that shows up here! You can see his monster paw prints (extra toe on each foot) on the '09. They will soon be on the '14. When summer gets here and the rains stop... the muddy foot prints are gone too.

.... and the new one....

Do you like Mac-n-Cheese? This is great.....

All I know. Happy Saturday. Nuff said. Ciao.

March 22nd
National Goof Off Day
Now here's a day that just about everybody can relax and enjoy. It's a day to do anything and everything.....except what you're supposed to do today.
Assuming you won't get in trouble at work or school, go ahead and play some golf, or play games all day. Spend extra time surfing the net. Go out and spend the day window shopping with your favorite friend. Or, just read sit down and read a book or watch Tv. This day is set aside for you to do anything you enjoy doing.
A few years ago, a survey was performed to identify the most popular activity for goofing off. The top activity was playing video games. Who conducted the survey? surprise. It kinda makes you wonder just who might have had the brainstorm to create this day......hmmmm. Nowadays, the most popular Goof Off Day activity is likely playing games on the internet, or on our Smart Phones.

Congrats on the new ride! I must say I couldn't tell the difference in the two except the new one is shiny. Bruise cracks me up! Let's hope he can keep his paws off the new one! :)

John was just telling me that Art and Carol leased a new Ford Fusion for Carol. Can you tell me the advantage of lease versus buying? I have never understood that.

Now to go back and see about those little Mac n Cheeses.

GREAT BLOG. LOVE the new ride.

I think Goof Off is a great noun- a product for removing stickers. Forgot is also a verb. Will try to squeeze in a few minutes....

Yes, Goof Off is a product, similar to WD-40. xo

@ Trish, glad you got to go listen to the candidates. As for leasing... vs buying... I tend to buy a new/used vehicle every few years and leasing costs me the same, get a brand new vehicle every three years, all the warranties are in tact for that long.... works for me. Brian said this was the best for me as he knows my car "M O" ! xo
