Good 46º very foggy morning.
I survived yesterday and thank you all for your kind notes, words, and
thoughts about my Darling. xoxo
Today is a special birthday... my Italian son Alex is celebrating. HAPPY
BIRTHDAY POOBLIE!! I ♥ u!
Rained and rained all day yesterday. We had over an inch from 5am til 2pm.
My smallest seasonal creek finally has water in it!!! YEAH~! Total for the day
was 1½" of the wet stuff.
The geese were out there and probably wondering why I didn't want to go out
in the downpour and give them corn!! They were honking and honking!
My friend Joe Kirk (LASD ret) shared this video on his FB page... just
adorable... a rescued fox is so happy to see his rescuer... and makes the
cutest/funniest sounds...
Throw Back Thursday.....
1957... Susan Laney, Girl Scout, Troop 727.
Had a note from Aaron up in Montana... their temps are between -20º and
-30º. Geeeeze Louise. Too cold for me!!!
Dinner....
Quinoa Pereg Southern Style (quinoa, smoked paprika, onion, tomato powder,
turmeric, parsley, cayenne, cilantro, red bell pepper, tomato, cumin, garlic,
carrot, salt, and fennel seeds), broccoli, carrots, peas, mushrooms, and
cabbage.
The quinoa went in the rice cooker and the broccoli went in the steamer
basket on top...
I sauteéd the mushrooms, carrots, cabbage... in oil and then before the
quinoa was done I added in the broccoli. Just steamed it long enough to be
slightly tender.
When the quinoa was done I plated some and topped it with the sauteéd
veggies... of course added a couple tomatoes.
OMGOOD~!!!!
And.... today is the anniversary of two very special people... Gary and Tammy. They 'adopted "Mr. Big Stuff" .. as I called him..
This was the
black lab PJ found on the freeway off ramp and the guy Janie and I took to
Redding to meet up with T&G ...half way to Tammy and Gary's house in
Modesto ... See how their other lab, Jaco, has his rear leg resting on
him!.... Gary renamed him Sideways because when he sits, he sits sideways! ...
Dog Lovers... all good! He was probably the most beautiful black lab I have ever
seen.
HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY kids! ♥
