Good 41º foggy morning. OMG, it's going to go back into the teens at night
for a while again. DARN!
Ok, I was told to get on my
re the flu outbreak.... this from
my BFF Jeannie who is soooooo sick. After getting a "flu shot" both she and Bill
got the "flu". Bill's turned into walking pneumonia, even after a "pneumonia
shot" !!! So, if you are coughing, have a fever (frequently or infrequently),
body aches, and headaches.... STAY HOME!!!!!! Jeannie
had to cancel an appointment and the nurse told her "thank you" as
sooooooooooooo many "don't give a rap and come in anyway and spread this crap
around!" I don't care if you are a man or not.... men don't tell their
spouses when they don't feel good. TELL YOUR WIFE IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS!!!
AND STAY HOME!!!!
Here is the chicken soup I made on Sunday....
First I cut up 3 large skinless/boneless chicken thighs and sauteéd them
until brown. Put in crockpot. I get the vegetable stock at Costco... 8 cups of
water (2 quarts) and 4 capfuls of the stock mix and put in crockpot with
chicken.
Then I cut up mushrooms, a leek, and green beans. Added that to the
crockpot along with drained diced tomatoes, a T of basil, a capful of dried
garlic, about 2 T of taco seasoning, and some broccoli slaw. Then added in some
egg noodles....
I let this cook on low for about 4 ½ hours. OMGOOOOD!!!!
... and the vegetable stock is so good for you!!!
While I was in the kitchen I saw Bruiser out the window up on the birdbath
drinking the water. I ran to get my camera, but as usual he is uncooperative
when it comes to me taking his picture... so just got this one of him on his way
back to the house... see the "look" !!! LOL.
Now here's a great idea for those of you with bars or a place where you
keep your wine! Put those old tools to work!
OMG this is hilarious!!!

I forgot all about Marjoe Gortner! Did he have a nice house?
I am starving (as usual) after your blog and don't have much going on food wise.
Are both restaurants still open? Love t&g
What an interesting oral history you are leaving here- past through present.
Bruiser has "the look" down.
Marjoe lived in the Hollywood Hills. I drove up his driveway and he as angry about that. He expected me to walk up his L-O-N-G steep driveway instead of driving up ..... idiot. Don't recall what the house looked like. Nothing spectacular like Ricky Nelson's! Yes, both restaurants are still open. xoox
Thanks Lydia... nice of you to say that. Lots of people and places in my life that stand out. I was Blessed to have some very interesting and fun jobs too! xo
Sending best wishes to Jeannie and Bill for a quick recovery. I know you miss your dear friend when she is out of commission. Surprised they got such a bad case after getting flu shots. Long distance hugs to both (which are the best kind when sick) :)
I too love hearing about your early days. You were sure a cutie.
Love Bruiser's "look". LOL
Hey I am thinking Jeannie and Bill need some of your chicken soup! You could always leave it on their door step. :)
XO Trisha
Thanks T! I'm sure Jeannie will read you comments and be pleased. She makes a mean chicken soup herself. Crockpot also. I did offer. We were all cute when we were young. Thank you!!! Whoppen????? xoox
Thanks for the info on the "flu". I thought I was suffering alone - after a flu shot and pneumonia shot! Stay well my friend.
Juli
