Jack ~ Football Schedule ~ Batkid ~ Steve and Ellen ~ Baked Eggs ~ Pumpkin Cake

Good 35º football Sunday morning.

Didn't get much rain, maybe 1/10th of an inch, with the "storm" that was predicted. More coming in a day or so.

Yesterday my grandson Jack was performing with the school band  in a "field show" at Ramona High School....

(Yeppers, you Alex and your mom all look alike!!!!)

I forgot to post the Thursday night football score. Brian was a happy camper, being a Colts fan!!! Today should be interesting... and then there is Monday night!!!

In case you missed the newscast of Batkid in San Francisco... watch this....Thousands turned out to make 5-year-old Miles Scott's wish come true. Miles is battling Leukemia and told the "Make-a-Wish Foundation" that he wanted to be Batman. The City by the Bay was transformed into Gotham City, where Miles busted a bank robbery, caught the Riddler and got the key to the city. Scott Pelley reports.
Thanks to Jen's brother Jimmy Schumacher for the link!

Today is a birthday of an "old" friend.... Wilsonite Steve Geon (LAPD ret) ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!

(sorry, only picture I had....)

Yesterday was another Wilsonite's birthday... Ellen (Naugle) Pantalone. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ELLEN! Ellen was my next door neighbor on Stockbridge ... and married the 'boy across the street' !

The new coffee creamer I got is YUMMMMMY!!! Eggnog Latte!

Historically this date...
1968 – Viewers of the Raiders–Jets football game in the eastern United States are denied the opportunity to watch its exciting finish when NBC broadcasts Heidi instead, prompting changes to sports broadcasting in the U.S.
.............boy howdy, wouldn't have wanted to be near any Jets or Raiders fans at that moment!

And births this date include....
1925 – Rock Hudson, American actor (d. 1985)
I adored his movies!!! What a beautiful charming man.

Yesterday I was in a cooking/experimenting mode... I saw where Trish had posted on FB about baking eggs instead of boiling them. I took 3 eggs (extra large) put them in a muffin tin
,
baked them at 325º for 30 minutes, then put them in ice water for about 10 minutes
.
PERFECT! They peeled sooooooooo easy. Yoke was done to perfection! What a great idea! I will never boil eggs again!

Then I made a cake. The recipe I read said 1 box of yellow cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin 15oz. Two ingredients!
I thought it needed something else so added 1/3 cup soft butter and 3 eggs.
Beat the eggs with a fork, put all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix on medium a couple of minutes. Spray bundt pan with cooking spray, pour in cake mix, bake in pre-heated 350º oven for 30-35 minutes .. until top springs back when you press your finger on it. YUMMMMMMMM!!!!

PERFECT!!!! OMG it's sooooooooooooooooooo good!!!! Fluffy and just sinful!  Going to make this again using spice cake mix!

All I know. Happy Sunday. Nuff said. Ciao.

Oh the memories of all the high school field shows! What a great family affair it was and we were always sooo proud of our students! Jack looks adorable in his uniform! Yes they do look alike. In fact I can't tell Alex apart from her mom in the pictures!

So glad the baked eggs turned out well. It is going to be so much easier when making a big potato salad or deviled eggs.

That burns me that a woman could allow any man to squander away that kind of money that she worked so hard to make. What was she thinking??

I always loved Rock Hudson. Spent the day "with him" when we were staying at The Laguna Riviera and he was there visiting his mom and friends. I was young and couldn't understand why a parade of young men were following him around instead of girls! His death was so sad. I watched Giant again a couple of weeks ago. One of my all time fav movies.

Cake looks yummy! No icing??

XOXO Trisha

LOL, I even call Kristen "Alex" and call Alex "Kristen"!! Eggs are awesome. As for the cake, experiment and I don't NEED icing... but a maple icing would be good or just powdered sugar. xo

ohhh, I haven't made Baklava in such a long time...

You must have the best smelling kitchen in America.

Never baked eggs in the shell- will try.

Keep up the inspiration.

Go Batkid! You ARE just what the doctor ordered for all the rest of us. May you live long and live well.
